Okay - some of you know I've been trying to get back to Disney since Sept. 2001 and it just kept falling apart..
Well - my sis lost her DH quite unexpectedly in Feb. - she put her house up for sale - and she has rented a place in Lady Lake (north of Orlando) from Oct. 29th until mid-April.. She really wanted me to come down and see her while she was there so I said I would - and try to squeeze in a visit to the Mouse too, of course..
I was watching the airfares and decided I would go down on Nov. 30th - spend a couple of days with her - and then head down to Orlando from Dec. 2 - 7th - staying at Comfort Inn LBV.. I was a little down - thinking of doing WDW solo - but determined I would go ahead with my plans..
I hadn't booked anything yet and this morning I noticed a post on the Transportation Board that someone's Southwest air fare had dropped today.. I figured it wouldn't be here - in Albany, NY - but decided to check anyhow.. Well - the airfare had dropped from $94 each way to an incredible $49 each way!! I jumped right on it and booked a flight down for Nov. 30th and one back for Dec. 7th..
Fussed around the house - getting some stuff ready to go up on eBay - and when it was time for the mail, I reached in the box and here is this big postcard with a picture of Mickey on it.. I flip it over and it's the post card!!!! The one with the pin# for special rates! $49 for Pop Century - which is where I thought I would like to stay if I stayed on Disney property..
Now think about it - $49 air fare TODAY - $49 room TODAY - and my year of birth is none other than, 1949 !!!!!
I was so excited I thought I would lose my mind.. BUT - it gets better! My DD and granddaughter came over and I was telling my DD about it and I could see she was kind of bummed that I was going to Disney, going to stay on Disney property, do MVMCP, etc.. So - I called her husband and BEGGED him to let them go too..
He said yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you could have seen my granddaughter - she was actually hyperventilating.. Then she screamed - then she started to laugh and cry at the same time and was literally jumping up and down and dancing all over the room! It was priceless..
Even my DD cried.. I think this is the BEST possible thing for her depression.. She has something to look forward to - something to plan for - and she's going to the happiest place on earth!!!
Can a day possibly get any better than this?????
I am literally on Cloud 9 here.. Son-in-law and stepdauther said they will take care of DH and anything he might need, so I don't even have to worry about that!
It's finally going to happen! I'm going back to Disney and my DD and granddaughter are going with me!!!!!!!!
Who else will be there during that time frame? I sure would like to meet some of you and say "hello".............
