I got word today I am officially entered in the full marathon!

I am so nervous - I did the half in 2005 and 2006 and swore I would never do it again. But the half was closed so the full it is. I am so excited!!!

Congrats! I keep thinking about it - even went so far as to fill out most of the registration form online, then chickened out! I did the full marathon there 10 years ago (10 YEARS!!! - wow!) so I think it would be fitting for that to be my next goal, right? :thumbsup2

Good luck with your training and enjoy the race! Maybe I'll see ya there.

Congratulations! We'd love to hear your training and progress on the weekly thread. :woohoo:

I'm with you on the excited and scared. I've done 1 half and that made me do 2 thing; 1)Want to do a full and 2)Respect the h^%$ out of a full, it is a scary thing to look at for the first time for sure. We'll do our first full together. Best of luck training!!!!!

Oh good for you! Best of luck with the full training and with the big race!

I hope to do a full someday. It just seems so out of my league but maybe someday I'll pull it off.

As mentioned, respect the distance but don't fear it. People psych themselves before ever starting. Follow a training schedule but listen to your body.

You can and WILL do it. See you there in Jan:)

ultramickeymouse do you want to come to the start and keep reminding me - :rotfl:

I'm currently just passing week two of a sprained ankle rest and I feel like I'm just doing nothing, when I should be doing something. I know in my head it needs careful handling right now but -HURRY UP ALREADY!!!

At this point I do slightly fear the distance, but can't wait to tackle it - until the finish, when I usually wish I was anywhere else :lmao:

Cindy: I have a saying that I like to tell people as we are walking together (I'm a walker) as we have just gone up the ramp heading back to Epcot for the finish of the Half Marathon and having 3 overpasses ahead of us. "Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll get there." It's kinda like Dory who says, "Just keep swimming." Before you know it all the training is over and you are about to cross the finish line.

Don't look at the total overall picture and time and stuff, just take one training day at a time.

Good luck and come over to the weekly thread as training goes along and let others support you, encourage you and help you out if your having a bad day.

-Tracy

thank you Tracy, when I have more to report than an hour on the bike, I will do that!

Congrats on signing up. We look forward to seeing you there in January.

I am thrilled to hear that your first full will be at Disney. It is a wonderful memory and best place for that first experience. You can do this!

Hope your ankle is better soon. Keep working at your XT and when you are able to put some steps in at least the rest of you will be ready!
