I just had an unpleasant experience...

Really, c'mon. . .the Republicans are much more likely to evoke God in politics and affairs of the State. . .you would disagree?

Yeah, maybe - and I usually dislike how they do it -- as if only they know God in their narrow definition and that God should bless america above all other countries so much that it kind of ruins the "God Bless America" slogan for me. I certainly ask God to bless America every day in my prayers. I just don't want to wear it on my sleeve like many of the people I've seen. Of course not all Republicans are like this, but enough of them that I just don't want to be linked with that kind of mentality.

"went to Kmart to buy "The Passion" and some bread. I came through the parking lot which goes past the exit for McDonalds to a road under construction. No light there. I was waiting for a line of cars and someone from the McD's lot came up and started beeping at me. I drifted foreward a little in case I was blocking their way.

They followed me onto Detroit Rd. and kept up honking and honking. I had to stop for a light a couple hundred feet up where I was going to turn. I thought it might be one fo my sons fooling around. I looked back and this guy flipped me the bird!. He puts his car in park and flies out to my car. I put the window down just an inch and he screams and expletive involving a male bird and....you get the idea. Well, I thought he was drunk. He was in his late 20's dressed in a white dress shirt and tie, very neat and upscale kinda guy. I didn't know what to think. I didn't cut him off or anything. Didn't overlook a stop sign or anything.

I turned the corner and got his license number. As I was driving home, the only thing I can think might have been an issue...I have a Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker. Man, get a grip people."

Now, as the OP. I would like someone to show me where I said the bumper sticker was the issue? I SAID I thought it might be.

Yes, he could see my bumper sticker as I was able to see both of his headlights when he pulled out of the drive thru lane and started the honking.

Please, attacks get us no where. I have my feelings and opinions as do you. I am not about to change how I feel based on what you say and neither are you. My reason for posting this was to say we all need to relax. Each of us has the RIGHT to make up our own minds and to display our choice if we wish. Don't use your right as a excuse to take anyone else's away. That is all. Thank you.

I went to get ticx for W's speech here and asked my friends if they wanted bumper stickers and yard signs since I was going to be at the Republican headquarters for our county, and my friend said that he didn't want to do it in his neighborhood since some punk kids tried to burn his flag last year!

I also feared upset people, but I gotta spread the word, so put my bumper sticker on, I just want it to come off after the election. I can't stand cars with old stickers like "Vote Kennedy in 60"

Yeah, I know what you mean. You can donate a little money to your candidate, but beyond that, it's hard to know what to do for your cause. I think a bumper sticker is a good way to "spread the word" in a nice way. Someone on the fence might see your bumper sticker and say to himself, "Microcell's a good person -- maybe I should take a better look at Bush." Or someone might get thinking about Kerry after seeing mine.

It's too bad that any of us have to be afraid of the kind of reaction we'll get. Do you think it was always like this? Did people in the 60's harass people because of their bumper stickers?

Forget it. You had an experience that might cast a negative light on a Republican and then you had the gall to speak about it. That in and of itself makes you fair game for attack.

This is exactly how it should be! It's too bad that it's not.

Yes! I agree!

I only saw one person attacked on this thread, though. . . .

I really just can not belive anyone, on either side, would get that worked up over a bumper sticker.

I know what you mean about old stickers. I see old ones all the time, from whoever the owner of the car was for in like 1984 and I think it's really time for them to let that election go...

Ok, after reading this whole thread (which I would have never opened had I realized it was politically based, I'm really trying to avoid those lately but once I get started I have a hard time stopping, lol...) I have an new favorite phrase. It's...Pixie Dust for Brains! That made me LOL.
