A very difficult situation for all, and sending extra good thoughts to everyone here who is going through this situation. Lots of us made it to the other side, some with better stories than others, but there is much hope (and even more love). Children can be very resilient, really and truly.

Seaspray could have been writing about my life story. Sounds so similar, it's eeirie!

I've always thought that the guilt that I feel (still) and that my ex feels (still), about not making it work, was channeled in a very constructive way. We both resolved not to let our boys suffer because of our own failures as marriage partners. In that respect, I've tried to embrace the guilt (if that makes any sense). Not to beat myself up about the past, but to remind myself that I have to put the boys' welfare first before any issues with my ex. Luckily, he has done the same. It hasn't been easy, but it can be done.
