WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I just need either the CR Tower or the GF 1 BD suite to open up for Dec 2. I'm so excited! It pays to keep checking for availability!!!!

Wow!!! What fun you guys will have!! Is that also concierge? What building is it in? I know you have been kind of leary about what rooms you were going to get and where. A one bedroom at the GF will probably be fabulous! :flower:

Well, I am happy for you. Things will open up, I am sure. People change around& cancel daily. Keep trying to get that other night.

What's the code of your 1 bedroom suite? The first page of the GF FAQ thread shows where the suites are located by code. I know you wanted to be in the main building, but that 1 bedroom only fits 4. You'll at least have access to both the main building concierge level and Sugar Loaf lodge concierge, plus all the other amenities like pre-planning and on site assistance.

Glad it's all working out for you. Perserverance really pays off.

My inlaws have one for our trip in Nov. We are staying with the kids in a GF lagoon view. I can't wait to see their suite.

So great that you got one. It obviously pays to be persistent.

The suite is BN. It about $950 a night with tax???

This is from the GF page:
BN One Bedroom Suite
Sago Cay, Conch Key, Boca Chica, or Big Pine Key
$885 $965 $1110 $1250

Do the suites all have Lagoon Views? Do I still put in a request for a particular building?

I'm very happy about the suite even though we won't be in the Main bldg. Have access to RPC and SL, pre-planning, 2 bathrooms, etc. We'll put the kids in the room with 2 queen beds, and we'll sleep on the sleeper Queen sofa.

Can I email the Concierge planning now? I already put down the deposit. Also, are there any photos of the suites available?

Thanks!

I'm partial to the Sago Cay building. It's very convenient to the main building and there's a little path that leads right to the bus transportation. Sugar Loaf is right across the marina. You're probably a minute walk to Gasparillas and just to the left of the entrance is a back elevator that will bring you up to the concierge floor. Conch Key will put you closest to the resort boat launch, but furthest from the pools, beach and main building. I know you mentioned mobility issues, so location of the building is probably important to you.

I found this 1 bedroom layout on a website and it fits the description of code BN,

The only pictures that I've seen are from the main building suite and that has a different setup. You can check out other aspects of the resort though, including the concierge lounge, by going here, GF pictures and 360 degree views .

Now that your reservation is in the system, feel free to contact the pre-planning department. Their e-mail address is wdwgfplanning@disney.com . You can put in any special requests, including a particular building as well as get started on your PS's and anything else that you need.

Thank you all (especially Tammi!!!). I'm going to email them tonight and request Sago Cay. Will that give me a Lagoon View of the MK? Sago Cay is what we had requested earlier with the GV rooms because of location. I think this will really be a great trip!

Now I've just got to get a little more PD for Dec 2!!!!!!!!!!! (hoping for the Suite but will settle for the CR Tower!)

Thanks again to all!

The staff should be able to confirm the view, but I'm nearly positive that suite is located at the end of the building which overlooks the lagoon. I remember seeing a double balcony with a few lounge chairs on it. If it's the one I'm thinking of, you are going to have front row seats to Wishes and the Castle.

Please keep us updated.

I just sent them an email introducing our family and explained about the kids disabilities. I asked them to assign us to Sago Cay for medical reasons. I am so excited and NOT telling DH or the kids the good news! I can't wait to eat some of those desserts and have a drink- LOL! Oh, and since it's Rack Rate, I'll probably add the dining to these days of our stay even if the free dining code doesn't come out for December. At least those 3 days would be covered for food!

Thanks again for all the help.

I'm sure Merry will keep a close eye out for any discounts. Last August, I received an e-mail with a great pin code and that's what we used for our December stay at the YC. Suites are rarely discounted, but if the dining plan is extended, that would be a plus.

That suite is located on the 5th floor of the lodges, and in Sago Cay you'd have a marina view, Conch Key a garden/pool view, Boca Chica a pool view, and Big Pine Key a pool view. The bedroom has the balcony, and the living room has windows. They are very nice suites.

Hi California Dreaming, nice to see you posting!

We were in an accessible room on the 3rd floor of Conch Key last summer. We faced the MK and had a wonderful view. There was a suite next to us. Do you know what kind it was?

Congratulations, Triplefig! :sunny:

That would be the BU suite, a two-bedroom. If I remember correctly, the BU suite on the 2nd floor is the Cypress Suite, and the 3rd floor is the Wekiwa Suite.

Thanks. I was curious. We saw the couple staying in the suite several times in the hall and that is all we saw...two people! Must be very nice!!

Are you getting back to the GF much now that you have joined the happy ranks of DVC owners?

Cali-D, nice to see you again. Thank you for identifying the suite floorplan that I posted. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information beyond the general descriptions. Maybe if you have some time, you could do some updating to the GF FAQ site. A lot of the picture links are no longer valid and the GF Cafe has gone to back to serving dinner.

Thanks for your time and expertise.

What Grand Floridian suite would you recommend to me as being the most luxurious and with the best view of the Castle? Ten years ago, DH and another couple and I spent a weekend in a suite in, I believe, Sago Cay. It was a huge 2-br suite with an awesome patio on Seven Seas Lagoon. I loved it but I want to try the main bldg. We've stayed at GF 7 or 8 times but never in the main bldg. For DD's 10th bday in about 15 months, I'd like to have a small celebration at her favorite hotel - the GF princess: I wish there were more pictures of these suites. Also, the suite would not need to sleep more than 4 or 6 people max.
Thanks! :wave2:
