I just have to ask..did they even know how much the hat is worth? I think if they did not know and you still have it they will come looking for you in need of their hat back. >_< May even report you. I myself have a stitch hat and would never trade it for slides.
And I don't want to start a "squabble" but I believe everyone has a right to express their feelings toward the trade here so I agree with mtlhddoc2.

I doubt reporting would do any good (if they tried), since they did receive something in return. Generally, VMK sees that as a fair trade.

It's a great trade. People sometimes think these trades are too good to be true. But they do happen.

I got a yellow travel box for 2 sets of regular quest simply because the boy needed quest stuff. I asked him 3 times if he was sure BEFORE we even went into trade and then even in trade I asked him 2 more times.

In another incident, I traded an inferno for about 125 palm posts because I needed them.

So yes, these trades do happen. ^_^

I just want to make sure the other person realized how rare this hat is. There are less hats then there are inferno. Inferno is not as "Rare" as everyone says, I see Tons of people a day with one or two, and only about 10-15 stitch hats a day of the same people.

My very modest opinion:

The bloke goes to Disneyland a lot for Business (hey, my folks had to go to a Business function that was very near the hotel). So, he often has to get reservations and ends up with a ton of Stitch Hats.

He/she probably figured that he/she would gift this hat to someone, but make them pay... something. Thus, the waterslides factor into it.
