I just did the math. $1438 for 5 nights at AKL for 2.

Minus $720 payment from my Disney Rewards card.

I'm paying a grand total of $718 OOP for 5 nights lodging at AKL, 2-1 day passes and 5 nights of DDP. SCORE!!!!!! :yay:

And they've never made a dime of interest off me. :dance3:

Fantastic. You earned it though! They earned the merchant transaction fees, when you used the card, and they shared some of that with you. :)

I love earning CC rewards and paying, so you never pay interest. It's great, and it helps you do things like this! Congrats!

It's a big help. I never would have splurged on a deluxe without having that rewards money "in the bank".:)

I have a question about your Disney CC. I, too, have one and I'm wondering if there is any way to rack up more rewards dollars other than $1 per $100 spent? We mainly use ours for big purchases or when the checking account is low so it isn't that often. Do you guys make the effort to pay for everything with your Disney CC and then pay it off at the end of the month? My husband is trying to convince me to cancel ours so he can get a Cabela's CC instead!

Thanks for the info!

I put everything on ours---utility bills, medications, car repairs, any shopping trips, our Disney trip, any of my husbands work expenses, any pricey restaurants, etc. I pay it off every month. The only thing I don't use it for is gas---I'm afraid if I gave my husband that privilege, he'd be tanking up every other day!

Cabela's---do they give rewards back in their merchandise? or cash back?

People complain a lot about the Disney rewards because they're so low--but we find it works out fine for us. Sure, we could probably do better with another type of card, but we're happy with it. Any cash back that we would get from another card would go to Disney anyway. I got an AirTran card offer in the mail today to get points towards flying--but it costs $39 a year. Why should I pay for rewards? I can fly for $59. :confused3

I use mine for about anything and everything that comes up during the month. Groceries, gas, Dr. bills, cell phone bills, dishnet bill, clothes purchases, fast food purchases, medications, vet bills etc, etc. I've had vacations where several friends are going and made the payment with my card and then they all paid me my share.

The absolute key in this is to pay it off in full each and every month.
