Wow! The resort is gorgeous, the rooms were lovely and the staff was eager to please. We had 2502 and 2507, deluxe bayview club level rooms which were just a couple of minutes away from the club lounge, the boat dock and restaurants. I love club amenities:complimentary breakfast, unlimited soft drinks and water all day,a really nice Italian antipasti buffet from 5-7 with free beer and wine, cookies and milk at 9, a pool table, board games, computers with free internet service, and most of all Front of the Line privileges allow you to breeze through the parks quickly and comfortably. Also, the club staff will do almost anything for you, great for making dining reservations or helping out with transportation issues. The beach pool is definitely the most kid-friendly but the villa pool is exquisite and more peaceful. The hillside pool is small but secluded. I would suggest the far end of the east wing for the most privacy, the far end of the west wing seems noisy since it has views of the highway. Check-in was easy and our Loews welcome amenities arrived at the room almost as soon as we did. We had a nice bottle of chianti with cheese and crackers, and the kids room had cookies and milk. I read alot of negative comments before we went, but some people just like to complain. I highly recommend this hotel ( we've stayed at HRH and RPH and they don't come close to Portofino, in my opinion). I'd be happy to answer any questions.
