I Just Got a Pin Code Card for Most of 2010!!

:hug::hug:
I am so sorry... when where you thinking of going? there may be hope still. You may not have to book your flights that far in advance. I hope it still works out for you

DisneyBoundinDec, thanks for the hugs. It's so kind of you. :flower3: We are in the unfortunate position of being locked into the following dates for our vacation next year: 6/23/10 through the end of June (and possibly the beginning of July through 7/5).

DH and I both received a PIN code for $556/adult at a value resort. It was the one and only PIN code we've ever received. Ever! We felt like we won the lottery! However, the PIN was only good for booking through 6/3/10. :headache: So even though we had 'won' the 'Disney lottery,' we couldn't collect the 'winnings' (i.e., savings).

We live in the northeast. In our experience the 'cheap' air fare comes out 6+ months in advance. When I say 'cheap' I'm talking about spending a total of $800-$900 for the four of us to go to Orlando. We called the airline and found out the air fare for our dates will be released within the next couple of weeks. Once the air is released, the 'cheap' air ($800-$900 for the four of us) is gone within the first hour! After that you are looking into over $1200 for roundtrip air to MCO for 4 people. So you see it's about supply and demand to Orlando from where we live.

At this point we're thinking a repeat visit to the World won't happen for us next year. It would have been our second visit the WDW. My DH loves Disney as much as I do, but he is right when he says we should have definite plans for a resort stay before booking the air. We are hoping for miracle, but as of today we've given up on the 20%, 30%, 40% PIN that would have been ideal for our travel dates.

Thanks again for your kind reply. :flower3:

Still don't rule out cheaper airfare, even if you don't book immediately. I'm assuming you're waiting for Southwest. Don't forget SW & Jetblue have a lot of sales. I have gotten credits even a few weeks before traveling because the fares have gone down. I noticed your vacation dates are mid week, a good time for cheaper fares.

I also got the elusive code after following the tip to save vacation dates on the Disney website. I didn't order the DVD or complete an online survey. What I did was put in a few quotes for a mod & deluxe stay. Didn't log in every day to the Disney site. After several days, I went back in & saved a few new quotes for a value, a mod & a deluxe. I think I priced the value for 2 different months, May, & Nov & the mod & deluxe for Sept. About a week later, I got 2 copies of the e-mail. The resorts listed for me to "check out" were the 2 value resorts for the 2 different months I had saved.

We normally stay at a deluxe, so I'm thinking we got the e-mail since it appeared we were thinking of "downsizing" or just that we were indecisive. So maybe they were trying to entice us to book the more expensive resort. Anyway, good luck. Still hoping for pixie dust for your family!!:flower3:

^^^ Hi focusondisney!:wave2: I just priced a JetBlue itinerary flying out of an airport that's 1.5hrs. away from where we live, a super early travel time (6:05AM), and a stop over on the way to FL. In other words, not the ideal situation when traveling with two young kids. The total for the four of us was $1321.60. We were waiting for SW to release its 'web only' fares to try to save some $$ but also be able to fly out of our 'home' airport (even if it was at an odd hour with a stop over somewhere). We were also hoping and praying for another PIN we could apply to the Disney package. DH and I have stopped tinkering in their website. We figured at this point it it hasn't happened, it most likely will not be happening at all. However, we'll continue to check our emails and/or snail mail and hoping for a miracle!

Thanks for your supportive words and useful tips. :flower3:

where in the NE do you live? I live in Maryland.. and we plan on driving down in June. (granted we are going to be in Florida for 2 weeks.. 1 week visiting family and a short 3 day Disney stay and 1 week on a cruise). Have you thought about driving?

You could always book it.. even book the flights. If you are flying SW and you cancel your flight you get the full amount applied to any future travel within a year.. and you have up to 45 days to cancel the trip and get a full refund.. it will work out!

Pearlyswan - have you thought about staying offsite? I know everyone wants to stay on-site, but we have rented a condo offsite several times and have loved it. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, family room, etc. Probably about $80-90 a night for June. PM me if you would like a reference.

I too have been playing with the website almost daily and still haven't gotten a pin. Still hoping.....

^^^ We've considered driving too. It's not out of the realm of possibility. If we drove, we'd have to stop overnight both ways as my youngest doesn't have the stamina to go the 24 hrs. of driving (I've PMd you with the reason). I think our best bet now is what you (and others) have suggested. Try to book air and hope a better rate comes out later. We'll keep our fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Though DH is less optimistic than I at this point

^^^ If we were to drive, we would definitely consider staying off site. Sure, why not? We would have the car with us already so driving to and from the parks wouldn't be a problem. If on the other hand we secured some decent air fare and ended up flying, we would stay on site because we wouldn't rent a car. We'd be using Disney transportation to/from airport and within the parks. We're playing with the various alternatives, but to be honest I'll have to get DH back on track. He's more discouraged than I am.

Conniehar90. I hope you get the PIN offer for your trip. Pixie dust on the way to you!

I am sooooo bummed. I really want that code!! We are planning on going the first week of June on a family trip and then the middle of Dec just dh and I for our anniversary and we would be able to use it for BOTH trips. As of right now, we will not be going in June unless we get a good discount.

Freaking out!!!! I saw that I had an email from Disney Destinations and all it turned out to be was Free Shipping from PhotoPass!!!

Have you tried the Travel Zoo website for airfare? You can sign up for their weekly newsletter and they automatically send it to you on Wednesdays. The site looks for the 20 best travel deals of the week and some of them are amazingly good.

:sad2:That is very cruel.

I feel sort of guilty reporting that I just now received a second "Disney Destinations Explore Your Disney Resorts Pick" e-mail. The offer is the same as the first one I received on the 16th, but I did notice that the pin code has the same last 5 numbers, but the others are different:confused3.

I received this code just a few days after entering some dates on the website while I was logged-in. I got the first e-mail offer the same way, and neither time did I save those trips, I was simply logged-in as I entered some dates. Both times, however, it was for WL:scratchin.

Hope this helps someone:wizard:.

I just got it too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had given up completely on it, resigned to the idea of booking a bounceback next week and it showed up referencing the dates and hotels I was playing with yesterday!!

My TA is checking June 2010 and December 2010 availability right now!!! I feel like I am going to explode!!!!!!

Great! I'm glad it worked for you.

Well, then forget what I said to you on the CR thread about bouncebacks! But, still let us know what your TA says.

Saved 2 different offers on disneyworld.com yesterday, clicked the survey option for Not sure the value is good enough, 2 emails from Disney Destinations today both with the year long pins.

Only 20% off a value (plus the 30 off MOD and 40 off Deluxe) so not the best (I am sure better ones will come) but at least they know who I am :)

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just checked my email. Guest what??????????????? We GOT THE PIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Thanks to all who continued encouraging us to not give up. Your tips made it all happen! It WORKED!!! All the pixie dust people sent our way made it happen. We'll be able to go now! DH and I can't believe it! We're still in shock.

For those who are discouraged now because you haven't received this PIN, please don't give up. Keep trying! Make sure you read all your emails (even spam), and check the fine print. I almost deleted my PIN! :scared1: It wasn't until I read the details that it became clear it was an actual PIN with the 20%, 30%, 40% discount.

I'm wishing that everyone here who wants to make it to the World with that PIN gets it. Here's tons of pixie dust for all: pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Congratulations! I think you've just given hope to many pinless DISers:). When are you going to book? I bet you're going to have a fantastic weekend of planning. Don't forget your new ticker and countdown widgets for your desktop:yay:

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just checked my email. Guest what??????????????? We GOT THE PIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

I am so glad for you and SO BUMMED for ME!

I too just checked my email and there it was ... the Disney Destinations email.

I was OMGing too! WL August 2010 here we come!

Then I opened it ... and it was a PIN for $69 value resorts for stays beginning by November 24 2009!!!! :sad1::confused3:sad1::confused3

What a let down!

The trips I have saved on disneyworld.com are all for August 2010 ... I used the Chat option earlier tongiht and asked the CM about stuff for August 2010 ... and I get a PIN for November 2009 that expires in 4 days???!! I just don't get it. :sad2:

(Sorry, I don't mean to grump. A PIN is a PIN afterall, but this one is beyond useless. I don't even want to think what airfare would be this late in the game!)

OMG it worked! I got a pin for many dates thru out 2010. I had done what the OP did and 4 days later I recieved a pin. Thanks a million for the tip. The funny thing is that I had recieved a pin on 3 different e-mails last month but that was only for 1st half of 2010 which isn't going to work. So happy I got some dates for 2nd half of 2010.

Thank you! Next step: convince hubby to use the PIN for GF!!!!! ;)

Don't give up. I got it after saving some vacations as well.

I got it too! Just saved a few options in the past week, did the survey as you exit the site, and voila! Thanks for the tip!
