I am so sorry... when where you thinking of going? there may be hope still. You may not have to book your flights that far in advance. I hope it still works out for you
DisneyBoundinDec, thanks for the hugs. It's so kind of you.
We are in the unfortunate position of being locked into the following dates for our vacation next year: 6/23/10 through the end of June (and possibly the beginning of July through 7/5). DH and I both received a PIN code for $556/adult at a value resort. It was the one and only PIN code we've ever received. Ever! We felt like we won the lottery! However, the PIN was only good for booking through 6/3/10.
So even though we had 'won' the 'Disney lottery,' we couldn't collect the 'winnings' (i.e., savings). We live in the northeast. In our experience the 'cheap' air fare comes out 6+ months in advance. When I say 'cheap' I'm talking about spending a total of $800-$900 for the four of us to go to Orlando. We called the airline and found out the air fare for our dates will be released within the next couple of weeks. Once the air is released, the 'cheap' air ($800-$900 for the four of us) is gone within the first hour! After that you are looking into over $1200 for roundtrip air to MCO for 4 people. So you see it's about supply and demand to Orlando from where we live.
At this point we're thinking a repeat visit to the World won't happen for us next year. It would have been our second visit the WDW. My DH loves Disney as much as I do, but he is right when he says we should have definite plans for a resort stay before booking the air. We are hoping for miracle, but as of today we've given up on the 20%, 30%, 40% PIN that would have been ideal for our travel dates.
Thanks again for your kind reply.

I just priced a JetBlue itinerary flying out of an airport that's 1.5hrs. away from where we live, a super early travel time (6:05AM), and a stop over on the way to FL. In other words, not the ideal situation when traveling with two young kids. The total for the four of us was $1321.60. We were waiting for SW to release its 'web only' fares to try to save some $$ but also be able to fly out of our 'home' airport (even if it was at an odd hour with a stop over somewhere). We were also hoping and praying for another PIN we could apply to the Disney package. DH and I have stopped tinkering in their website. We figured at this point it it hasn't happened, it most likely will not be happening at all. However, we'll continue to check our emails and/or snail mail and hoping for a miracle!
That is very cruel.

I feel like I am going to explode!!!!!!
I got it!

It wasn't until I read the details that it became clear it was an actual PIN with the 20%, 30%, 40% discount.
