Was at PetSmart yesterday semi-seriously (or so I thought) checking out one of the local animal rescue groups' dogs that were up for adoption. These are all animals that have were close to being euthanized at Animal Control, but were rescued by this wonderful group of volunteers. I found the most adorable small terrier-mix just cowering and shaking in the back of her cage. Her name is Emily, and they think she's @4-5 years old. I took her out to hold her, and she was just the sweetest thing in the world. Kisses galore, wagging tail, snuggling in my lap. Just fell head over heals for her. The adoption fee is $110, but she's already spayed, had her shots, on heartworm preventative, is housebroken, and comes with 2 months free pet insurance. That sounds more than reasonable to me. DH isn't too keen on the idea, though (we already have 3 dogs), but I think he'll get over it--he's gotten over getting the last three.:) On the other hand, my motto is, "What's one more?" I've thought about her all day, and keep looking at her picture on the rescue's website. I just feel the need to give her a good forever home...:( What to do???

We don't go to Petsmart on the weekends for exactly this reason. My DH would kill me if I brought home a third dog! I think it's wonderful you adopted another pet.

(Where in GA?)

Hi Jenny! Actually, we haven't adopted her yet. Trying to get DH to go along with the idea. Hmmm...is that why I have his favorite dinner and dessert planned for tomorrow...?;) We're in Martinez, GA, right next door to Augusta!

She sounds so sweet and loving. If you do talk your dh into it, you'll have to post a picture of her!;)

I say Do it, he'll get over it! Emily sounds like she needs a home and a good loving family.

Why do you think I have 2 cats and 2 dogs stuffed into my condo.
I was at petsmart today with the two dogs and my new kitty I got last week, and of course we had to go over and look at the cats, lucky for me all they had was adult females and I can only take a baby boy cat home or my 15 year old cat Cora will freak.

If you can afford to do it, give her a home, your H will get over it.

Go for it! Get Emily. The poor dog deserves a good home and a good parent like you. If you can afford it, and you have enough space for 3 dogs.

Half year ago I adopted a Sheltie (already got 2 rescued cats). He's the sweetest thing. To be honest, rescued animals seemed so much easier to take care of, than puppies. My Sheltie is 8 years old, sweetest little thing, absolutely no problem. I am lucky to have him.

My doggie brightens my days. He's the love of my life. (Shhh. don't tell my DH). :)

Yea! Do it! (if you have the space, time, love, and money)
