I am not at all a handy or fix it kind of person. I can bake, cook, figure skate, etc.---but appliance repair is just not my thing.
We have a Kitchen Aid Blender that we love. It makes our favorite strawberry daquiries and smoothies among other things. Several weeks ago it stopped working. The coupler device teeth had shorn off. I was devastated! I hated the thought of shelling out another $80 for a new blender. So, I got online and found a company that sells replacement parts. I bought the part and anxiously awaited it's arrival. When it got here, no instructions!!! What the @#$$%!!! How can I fix something without instructions!!!
I got online and found a message board similiar to this one that has a variety of options on how to get this part off and then back on. Some of the descriptions involved buying tools, grinding them down or spending even more money to purchase the "secret" thin wrench from Kitchen Aid itself.
One simple description had you take a regular screw driver, apply pressure and turn the coupler several times and it comes off. That is the one I tried and it worked like a charm!!!!
Needless to say I had a smoothie for breakfast.
