Please ....a little advice....

Ten people in my family going to Disney in February 2006
The following year....we will go to Universal/IOA and Sea World
The year after that...back to Disney.

The grandchildren want to go to Disney Quest AND a Water Park

Should I purchase the Park Hopper Plus No Expiration ten day tickets for them?

Also...If I do buy those particular tickets....Could they use one day's park hopper "hopping" from Disney Quest to..let's say...Epcot...or is that just for hopping back and forth between the four parks? Can they "hop" from Blizzard Beach..and then to MGM ...using "one" park hopper day's ticket? ::MinnieMo

Disney Quest and the water parks use the plus feature on your ticket. To hop between parks you need to use the hopper ticket. So if you wanted to visit MGM and a water park in the same day you would use one day off the ticket and one of the plusses off the ticket. If you wanted to visit MGM and Epcot in the same day you would use only one day off your ticket.

During our trips we have one down day, shopping, swimming etc and we use the resort pool during the day break from the parks. We just purchase park hopper passes and when we go to the water park on our down day, we just pay the gate. Same with Disney Quest. Most times you pay for more tickets than you can use. Have to figure on how to get the most for the least and plan accordingly. Time is the given factor, alot to do and usually not much of it.

Just don't forget, you could use a plus feature for a water park and not go into a park that day. For instance, a seven day trip could use 5 days in parks and one day in a water park and one day at disney quest. If you buy 10 days non-expiring with plus feature, you would have 5 days left for the next disney trip with two pluses left for that trip :sunny:

I am going to have to do some real thinking on that now.....You are right...I could buy "too much" and not use the "extras"....and there is the possibility it would be too cold to use any of the water parks...especially the time of year we go.... ::MickeyMo

With plus pack but with or without the hopping option:

Blizzard Beach in the morning, Typhoon Lagoon in the early afternoon, return to BB before it closes, no other parks visited -- consumes zero days and two plusses.

Magic Kingdom in the morning, Blizzard Beach in the afternoon, return to MK in the evening -- consumes one day and one plus.

Even in February in any week there is usually at least one day, often at least two, when it is warm enough to go to a water park.

and remember the water is always heated to 82* F - even in February. Getting into the water is no trouble... getting out... well thats where I'd have an issue. Brrrr!

I am probably going to get totally flammed here but I have to say this and I honestly hope I don't offend anyone. It is not my intent at all!!

I know alot of people love this new Magic Your Way planning package but honestly I don't think it's a very good deal for someone like me. In the long run the old Dream Maker pkgs w/unlimited admission to all 4 parks plus the water parks is a better deal for me. I can't stay much more than 4 or 5 days at a time and I can't come any more often than once every 3 or 4 yrs. Altho I realize if you can stay 6 + days MYW is less expensive but it just doesn't work for me. I think it's so much easier just to have the hopping feature to any and all parks and be done w/it.

JMHO!!

Yes, Karen, unless you have enough money to go ahead and prepay for two trips at a time, it isn't as good for you. I'm not into flaming ;) We plan to go more more often but even if we couldn't, I would try to buy the premium MYW tix for ten days non-expiring. At least the 2nd trip would be way cheaper when it arrives :goodvibes

The plus feature costs just a little bit more than the cost of one visit to the water parks, so even if you buy more than you need, (5 visits for the $45) it's still cheaper to buy the plus feature than it is to buy one visit to the water parks and one visit to Disneyquest.

From time to time outside travel agencies offer non-standard Disney passes with unlimited water park admissions although I don[t know of any at this moment.

If you have a 5 day expiring pass with plus pack (three plusses), for six more dollars you get two more plusses (by adding the sixth and seventh park days).

Expanding the pass to 10 days non-expiring, $124. more than 5 day expiring, saves you money for the theme park admission for your next 5 day vacation but the five plusses have to be shared between both vacations. You could buy five more single waterpark admissions without exceeding the cost of the alternative of buying separate passes for each vacation i.e. 7 day 5 plus expiring passes.
