I just dont get why kids get so violent

DS was jumped last night coming out of McDonalds with his girlfriend and some others. The kids were following him, waiting to go after him. Someone told him, so they all left to walk home. The kid got right in his face, DS just started to walk, telling him he had no issues with him and didnt want any problems. That wasnt good enough, the kid punched him in the face a few times.

The police were called, we were called, the cops took the kid who hit him. DH filed a report.

He doesnt even know my DS. His sister has been nasty to my DS's GF, so when my DS told the girl to leave his GF alone, the brother decided to jump my son.

Needless to say, we had a sleepless night and I wont let DS go anyplace without me taking him there.

Its so frustrating!! Why cant kids just be kids!

that is horrible, and now you and your family dont feel safe, and what is it you've done wrong!!

I hate reading stories like this. My sons too were picked on, bullied, teased, but never to this extent. When will schools and people learn, there has to be a better way!

Hope the kids is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, although with some kids these days jail time is considered a badge of honor.

This sounds like the ol' "dont dis me" thing again.

I was coming out of a store when this car playing really obnoxiously loud rap music. It was so loud that the speakers couldnt handle it and just sounded really bad. I just shook my head and said to person next to me sounds like ** well the kids in the car must have seen me and the car stopped and 2 kids about 16 jumped out and were in my face" You dis'n our music?!!!" I just stood there as they shouted expletives at me I tried to walk away but they blocked me I poined at the security cameras mounted on the buidling that didnt seem to deter them but the store security(police officer) came out. They ran to the car and peeled off racing out of the parking lot.

I remember when I was that age I never even thought about talking to someone older that way.

I am sorry that happened to your son, it really bothered me. If someone thinks you are looking at them funny, they are in your face and you could be looking past them not at them. You see the violence on TV and in the movies, you hear it in the lyrics of songs, it just is not right. A few years beack, my DH and I were at the mall. This teen was beating the crap out of his girlfriend. People were just walking by and letting it happen. Well, my DH who is in law enforcement, saw it and grabbed the kid off this girl. He was holding the kid back waiting for the cops, that I called. Another guy came over and yelled at my DH to leave the kid alone. The kid tried to kick the other guy and then the other guy was about to try and beat the kid up. What a mess on a Saturday night going to the movies.
