I just completed ON-LINE CHECK IN!!!

I completed on-line check-in at precisely 10 days out, and I simply cannot contain my excitement

Will do. So far the process was very anti-climactic. Just confirming credit card number and estimating arrival/departure times. They did not give me any cool info like room assignment or anything.

Hmm, neat! I thought they'd tell you something a little more than that. That's still so cool, knowing that you're *that* close to your trip that you're actually checked in. Have a blast!

I'm not sure I understand why there is online check in. Don't you still have to go to the front desk of your resort when you arrive, in order to get your key cards, park passes, etc. Can you tell me more about what online check is all about? Thanks!

My understanding, at this point, is that I won't have to stand around while a CM verifies my address, credit card, family names, wait for all the papers to print, etc.. There is supposed to be a "quick" line where I just show my photo ID and get the already-printed package with tickets and maps.

I don't think I would like checking in early.. I like to see what my options are once I arrive.. like try to get a room of my choice instead of a chosen one.. like if I want a certain area.. thats all...

So far, it doesn't seem as if this online check-in is effecting the room assignment at all. Even if you go to the front desk, they don't assign you a room when you arrive: it's assigned a few days before by the room assigner, right? I suppose if you'd like to try and change it at check-in you still can, just like before.
