Hi, guys!

I just came back from three days at US. We stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort, but we also made it a point to walk over to the Portofino Bay and Hard Rock hotel, too, to see what they look like.

We spent one day at Universal Studios, one day at Islands of Adventure, and each night we went down to City Walk for dinner.

We had a great time. Any questions? I'm happy to answer any and all!

:D

We are going to the RPR for the first time in August. I have two questions.....

1. We are a family of 7 can you recommend any good (cheap) places for breakfast and dinner?

2. How far was it to walk from the resort to the parks?

Thanks for any help! :flower1:

Hi, there!

Well, congratulations on your trip! You are going to love it - we had a great time. The walk from any one of the three hotels is great. What hotel are you staying at? We stayed at the RPR, and there is a little path that runs behind Margaritaville at CityWalk. If you're staying at the Hard Rock Hotel or Portofino Bay Hotel, then there is a path that is at the far end of City Walk, (to the right of the Universal Studios entrance). The walk is nothing - ten minutes if that. If it's not scorching hot, it's actually very pleasant. I thought it was easier than a shuttle or a boat. You'll love the way City Walk is the center of it all.

As far as eating, I don't remember much about the specific names of restaurants. We ate at the more expensive restaurants. Let me just say, though that it's probably best if you don't eat at the hotels. We thought it was overpriced. I don't think there was much at City Walk besides the bigger, more expensive restaurants. (Be sure to take them through the Hard Rock Cafe, though, to look around!) I think the only counter services there was at City Walk were Starbucks and Cinnabun. As for dinner, I would eat at the parks. There were several places that seemed reasonable.

I highly recommend Pastamoré Ristoranté & Market located in CityWalk for dinner. It's similar to Olive Garden but MUCH MUCH better. Has a very nice atmosphere, great service, but is kid friendly also. Prices were reasonable. We ate here two nights in a row after spending the days in the parks.

How were the crowds and wait times?
Thanks.
