They asked: If you won $5 Million Dollars what would be your dream Job???
Are they kidding? I put 'I'd Retire'....
What would you put for an answer to that question??
Debbie

Give me $5 million and I'll let you know ;)

Wow, that is a weird question. Do they honestly believe people would be soooo devoted to their company that they'd still work?? LOL I would probably put "None" or what you said about retiring.

Is that to determine if you'd leave after winning the lottery? :confused3

I'd probably put something brown-nosey...I'd keep working...I get a lot of satisfaction out of my job....blah, blah....

What I'd be thinking is: "I'd call you from the Walt Disney Suite and leave a message telling you it's been real, but don't expect to see me again! Have a nice day!"

Well, I'd really be tempted to write, "I sure wouldn't be working at THIS crummy job." but I'm sure I'd come up with something more diplomatic. :rotfl:

I had a friend that just interviewed for a job and they asked who her favorite President was. This was for an office job. They also asked her favorite color. I told her maybe they're redecorating and want to make sure you can tolerate the new color scheme.

Working part-time in the gift shop at either the Caribbean Beach, Polynesian, or Old Key West. My DH said he'd like to drive one of the Disney buses.

Better than an application I was handed years ago...asked for spouse's occupation, social security number, date of birth. How many children I had, what I used as birth control (!), a medical history, how much a month I paid for my mortgage(!). This was for a part time job in a store in my little town, and it was part of a regional chain! At that time, I'd already been well schooled in EEOC allowed questions from a prior employer, so I did not even go past question number one.

Did you get to choose from multiple choice on that? :teeth:

I wish I had come up with some of the answers that you guys gave! Their really good!
I have never been asked that on a job application before and I had to laugh when I read it. Get real! Who would work after winning a big sum of money?
Not me and I won't even lie about that to get a job!
Keep up the great answers...I love it!
Debbie

"I'd buy this company and take stupid questions like this off the applications!"

Yeah, that'd go over REAL well! :)

That's Hysterical! I love it....

Odd question! Maybe they had a valuable employee leave that won the lotto?

But I think the best bet is that they are testing loyalty.

What kind of a job were you applying for?

It's a trick question folks, they want to know how dedicated you are to your profession. If you were applying for a job in the hospital setting , you might answer, "I think I'd like to open a free clinic with the money and manage it."

Or, If you were applying for a retail job, you might answer "I've always wanted to start my own business, so I would probably give that a shot if I won that kind of money."

Get it?

Most of those questions are either illegal or unethical and shouldn't be answered.

I'll let you know if this ever happens! I'd hit the lightning first before hitting a lotto! :)

Yep...what puffy2 said ! :teeth: This is simply a question to see what kind of goals you might have, or how happy you would be with the position you are applying for. The funny thing is, the best most people can aspire to in a corporate setting is "middle management", and something tells me that's not a very popular answer to that question. ;)

As for my answer: I would try to gather investors to start a private school. It would be geared towards the best and the brightest, and would be both tuition accessable as well as scholarship funded for those that couldn't afford it (basically, a needs based system based on family income). The school system here sucks, and I'd do what I could to get something in place to keep kids from experiencing the same things I did as a so-called "gifted" student stuck in classes that moved much more slowly than I could handle. In fact, that would be our goal...personalized teaching that would help every child reach his or her personal educational potential.

To find out how loyal I am? I work because I 'have' to work, not because I 'want' to work. Now don't get me wrong.I put my best foot forward on any job that I am hired to do and keep a very positive attitude but the day I win $5 Million Dollars I'll be calling them from a beach in Hawaii, sipping a pina colada and deciding which million dollar home on Waikiki beach I want to buy!
That's the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Debbie

I was asked in an interview once, (and I quote) "Whats your living situation? Are you married or just living together?" It was for a church secretary position.

I would continue with my normal day to day job.

I just wouldn't do anything and see how long it took them to fire me.

Do I dare live out the American Dream?

If I'm ever asked that in an interview, I would be tempted to answer "Jefferson Davis" just to see the reaction. :teeth:

Of course, here in Richmond that answer could land me the job right then and there. :earboy2:
