apparantly last night when parking my car I nudged the car behind (I did not realise this at the time - but my children did, did not tell me till later) well the car I nudged belongs to quite an unsavoury family (that live 10/12 doors away from us) and is an ex*****ive vehicle. The mother was in the front garden watching the car at the time! but did not say anything to me as I locked our car and walked away (I still did not know that it had happened) but apparantly so another neighbour told me she was inspecting their car for 20 mins for damage.

Do you thinK I should knock and apologise as I genuinly did not realise that I had done this, I had a lot on my mind last night, or as there appears to be no damage just leave it!

I would knock and apologise out of politeness.

I would knock and apologise too You have to live near these people and for good neighbourhood relations, and my own peace of mind, I would feel it only right to say sorry.

I would also knock and apologise. I would also offer to look the car over with them and offer to pay for any damage that may be there as a result.

On a completely separate topic, why on earth has expensive been starred out on your post??? :confused3

I think the part of the part 'pensi' probably has the S and I the wrong way round!

I would certainly call on the neighbour and acknowledge that you did touch thier car but were unaware of it until much later.

I couldn't work that out either, :rotfl2: :lmao:

Yes knock and tell them but you know the family and your neighbourhood we don't. Easy for us to say.

I would knock and tell them too I think. Would be polite and out of courtesy.
I do tend to agree with wayneg though, you know them and the neighbourhood, we don't. So I would do what I thought was best.

It could cause more uproar if you didnt. She might wonder why you hadnt at the time. If you do apologise make it clear you did not know at the time instead of being rumbled. Hope that makes sense.

I agree with everyone - just go round and explain you didn't know you'd done it but one of your children just mentioned something in passing - which s way you've not been round until now.

I would however, insists in inspection the car for damage just in case there's any comeback later and the damage might not be from you!

I agree, it would worry me all day if I didn't

Good luck

good luck to you whichever you decide to do and I hope they don't give you an unecessary hard time.
