Nothing major for either but it will really affect our whole family.
The first one (hopefully in a week or so) is an arthoscopic knee procedure for a torn menisicus. At least I don't have any ligament damage. Out-patient procedure on my left knee so I will be able to drive fairly soon.
The second one is carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist. The surgeon asked me if I wanted sedated with the local anethesi or if I wanted to watch. I told him that a nap sounded like the best idea. Again, should be simple and not complex but may affect my DISing.
The problem is that I have a minor bleeding abnormality, so even simple procedures has a slightly increased risk. Even a little extra bleeding can alter the recovery phase.
However, the biggest deal in my family. Like most SAHM's, I'm the one that orchestrates our little corner of the world. This will also come during the time that our 11-yr DS is performing in the Indpls Civic Theatre's production of "Barnum" for 3 weekends in a row. DH will also be going with the our Amateur Circus troupe as a chaperone and rigger for the equipment. DD is a Senior and school, et all is tough. Add a 2-yr old DGD, and this is gonna get very interesting. My parents will be around to help (even at age 50, parents are comforting!) and so we may have lots of chaos in our home. The logistics of the month of September are daunting.
I think we will be eating a lot of pizza!
