1. What is the name of the song/artist?

Black horse and a cherry tree.....

2. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy jeans for a short person? DD is 5'2" and wears size 3 or 5 depending on the brand. We can't find any jeans short enough for her. We've tried the ones labeled short, but they are still too long. She used to wear LEI Short and they were okay. They've changed them and now they are too long as well. I bought her longer jeans and they are torn and ragged at the bottoms. I took her to every store in the mall selling jeans and couldn't find any to fit. I asked a tailor about shortening them. She wanted $15 per pair. I'd rather not do that. Any suggestions? Oh, DD doesn't want to wear mom jeans. LOL!

Don't know about the song, but for jeans try Aeropostle store.

My sister is the same size as your DD and she has to buy her jeans from either American Eagle or Hollister. They are the only two places that sell pants that aren't super long on her and can accomodate her hips/butt. She's a skinny girl but we're hispanic and it shows in those two areas :teeth: She usually buys their flare or boot cut styles and they fit her just right.

KT Tunstall for your song question...

I'm also petite...I have Hobbit legs. Seriously. I buy petite pants and still have to have them hemmed (real nice when I take them into my local Korean drycleaners for hemming :rolleyes2 ). Steer clear of Banana Republic -- their idea of "petite" must be 10-foot-3.

KT Tunstall. I think. :p

Can't help with the jeans. I'm short and have given up on finding proper lengths. I've resorted to expanding my high heeled shoe collection instead.

Oooh No. Ooooh No no no I said Oooh No. You're not the one for me. Woo oooh.

Good luck on the jeans, my DD is on the opposite end and we have to find some new ones. I quess I need to start another thread.

I buy my jeans at GAP, they regularly have ankle length jeans in stock. My sister (14) just got a few pairs there...she was a little hesitant at first (we were there to get me clothes!) The woman who worked there was like a jeans specialist and she was able to pick out jeans that fit perfect for my sister..since they have all those weird shapes/fits - curvy, straight, and original. It turns out my sister is curvy LoL, I don't think she liked that IfYouKnowWhatIMean! :rotfl: I on the other hand am straight... yep my pants don't need to go around much of anything..just straight from the waist to the ground XD.

As far as the jeans, Calvin Klein is a brand to try - they make the small sizes in all kinds of lenghths (I am the opposite, I am 5'1" but have LONG legs and have trouble finding jeans in a 2 that are not Petites and are long enough! Calvin Klein always comes through. :thumbsup2 )

:thumbsup2 LOVE them. I like a flaired leg, though. Old Navy's Just Below Waist ( and a new pair of "curvy" jeans they started carrying) SHORTS fit me well. I don't have to have them hemmed.

Good luck on the jeans. DD15 is 4'11", (stretching it), and wears size 0 or 1 in jeans. It is impossible to find jeans that are the right length. ALL of her jeans are too long and she ends up walking on the bottoms of them, which gets them dirty fast and makes them rip and fray at the back. Like you said, it's costly to get them hemmed. The shortest ones she has found, and even those are too long, are from American Eagle.

I once tried shopping at old navy, since I like the GAP so much and they are the same company... I tried on "short length" pants and i swear they were 5 inches too long ! I think someone was :smokin: when they labeled those pants LoL

Thanks, everyone! The song is for me. I really like it and will be getting the CD.

I will take DD shopping again. With you help, I hope we will have more success!

Do you have a Nordstrom? They will hem for free if you pay full price for your items. Of course it might be cheaper to buy jeans somewhere else and have them hemmed at the tailor! :rotfl2:

We also have a Levi's store where you can have jeans custom made for about $70.

My boss is very tiny and she wears Guess jeans.

It is hard to find jeans for people with short legs. I know this from experience! Calvin Klein discontinued my favorite style, but I think they still make jeans with different inseams. They actually number the inseam length, they don't call it "short, regular, long".

I'm extremely short and look for capri length jeans and slacks. These are normal length on me.

American Eagle makes short-length jeans. My DD is 5'4" inches and the short length is too short for her, so they would probably work. Too bad they are so pricey.

For my DD I like Aeropostle. She's going through a major growth spurt this last year and I like the fact they are very reasonably priced. For me, I like Banana Republic. I order the petites on line because our store here doesn't have petites.

I do the same thing. Capri is ankle length for me.
