I have to vent...

So of course my girls are into Frozen since we seen it on Thanksgiving day.

With that, I have been trying as well as other parents to get their little girls a dress. Either dress.

I should not have to wake up at the crack of dawn and stalk the Disney store for an awaiting arrival! I should not have to pay these OUTRAGEOUS prices these Ebay people are asking.

STOP buying these things and selling them at your disposal for INSANE amount of money, leave these things to our children who want nothing more then to be the princess in the movie they love!

All you re-sellers should be ashamed of yourselves for taking away from young little girls who want to dress up like Anna and Elsa. Shame on you I cannot stress it enough!

As for Disney, I am sure they knew they had a hit on their hands but maybe did not anticipate what a HUGE following this would be. So I ask on behalf of all the mothers out there looking for a Elsa dress for their little princesses PLEASE RESTOCK NOW! Thank you, that is all!

This reminds me of the beanie baby craze years ago. I would see them for sale for hundreds of dollars. Not too long after the bubble burst there were plies of them at garage sales they couldn't give away. People certainly have a right to sell them for whatever price they think they can get. You might have to stand in line early, pay sky high prices.

I completely agree everyone has the right to sell it at whatever they want. My plight being it is not fair nor it is right.

Seeing a dress from a movie going for 1600.00 all the way to 10 grand burns me up and as they have the right to sell it for those amounts I have the right to complain about it.

I am only thinking of all the little girls out there right now wanting it so badly and these poor parents, including myself, not being able to get it. Especially for upcoming things like birthday trips...etc.

I am more upset that Disney is taking their time restocking then theses re-sellers.

Just my opinion no one has to like it. As stated I just had to vent.

“shame on people for not selling me the things I want at the price I am willing to pay”

We saw two little girls wearing these dresses at Epcot one morning while waiting in line for EMH. Well you know the hot topic in the line was where she got the dresses.

It was eBay -- she said she paid double, plus shipping. But those were the only dresses her girls wanted. There were lots of complaints while we were there that Disney didn't have enough merchandise for Frozen. Nobody could find the dresses in the parks while we were there.

Disney was not prepared on any front for the demands of Frozen's popularity. Merchandise is one area of the shortcoming, while space / a designated meet and greet spot is another. It's going to take them a while to play the catch up game!

It's not just the dresses either. My DD wants a Frozen birthday party. It took awhile but I was able to get plates, napkins and cups at a reasonable price - not the $10 for 8 paper plates that most places wanted.

I was lucky that DD liked Elsa from the moment she saw her well before the movie came out and she dressed as her for Halloween so we've had the dress and crown (funny that she had to explain to everyone who she was and now 6 months later Elsa is practically a household name). So fortunately we were also able to previously get both barbie size dolls and toddler dolls along with other Frozen items and clothes before it got too crazy.

I was out shopping and came across 2 Elsa barbie type dolls the othr and picked them both up in my cart while I contacted my DB to see which would be better since I knew they were looking for one for my niece (one had her ice dress and the other her coronation dress). While I was on the phone with him, a mother and grandmother were in the aisle, complaining that I had the nerve to have two in my cart so I walked away to talk. After he confirmed which one to get, I went to put the other back on the shelf and the women literally pulled the box out of my hands! It's crazy!

It sure is a craze isn't it!

The best way to combat "scalpers" is to not buy from them. One thing about ebay, is someone can list a product at any price they want...doesn't mean someone is actually buying it!

As for Disney, you can bet that there are some buyers totally SCRAMBLING to get product on shelves. As a former buying agent (non-Disney), purchasing is a gamble. These products were ordered LONG before they hit the shelves. You can't order too much, what if it's a flop? It takes time to get product in, and i"m sure they are producing and then shipping as soon as they can.

just an a FYI - i found a reasonably priced Elsa inspired dress on Esty (believe it was $50). It's not the official Disney one but does look very nice and my DD was very happy with it.

I was told that the Disney Store should be receiving more stock around the time the movie is released so hopefully they'll have the dresses and dolls. The one site that I was able to order cups and napkins from had listed that it is a manufacturer's backorder and they expect more in around the end of the month.

To the young ( to me ;) ) parents here ..a word or two of encouragement ....hang in there

When my DDs were about your childrens ages Cabbage Patch dolls was the thing I wish I had all the hours missed sleep back trying to search for one store to store dozens of phone calls made

Over 30 years later they are still in the family Seems like retailers either don't count on the popularity OR make sure it ends up being a must have hot item because they dribble out the items little by little Been happening for decades EVERY generation When I was a pre-teen the white go-go boots were the must have hard to find and deeply appreciated thing when I finally got it This too shall pass :thumbsup2

There will always be vultures looking to make a dollar off of the latest kid craze as long as ebay exists. I refuse to buy from those sellers, just wait it out. Within a month or two you'll have no problem getting it directly from the store.

Actually, you can see the completed listings and they ARE paying ridiculous prices. IMO, the dress doesn't even look like Elsa's.

Here is one for $100 if you buy it now:

If you want to put time and $$ into it if it is that important, I'd hire a seamstress who will get the right material and make it right.

My mom was one of those waiting in lines for the stores to open! When I bought the Doc McStuffins doctor center for Christmas , the store clerk actually compared it to Cabbage Patch Kids with everyone trying to get one.

I am thankful that we have the internet now which makes it easier to search for things. My mom later told us stories how she would head out after dropping us off at school to stand in lines and how various aunts would also head out to other stores at the same time and that was without cell phones - they would have to wait until they all got home to communicate on whether one was able to get one or not.

I remember the same thing - although not quite as bad and not nearly the high prices - when the Jake and the Neverland Pirates toys came out and also the Sofia the First dresses as I tried finding one last June for my niece to no luck at that time.

Living in a free market society is that when people buy things for the solepurpose of making a profit they will and I see nothing wrong with that at all.
