Anyone want to take a guess at how many cavities I will have?

Last time I went I was pregnant and they found two really tiny cavities but they couldn't do anything about them since I was pregnant. So now I'm wondering how many I will have in addition to those two. You know, I never had cavities until I had my first kid. My dentist said you loose a lot of calcium which causes cavities and that's probably why. After my first was born I went to the dentist only to find out that I went from 0 cavities to 6! So, I'm a little nervous about today...having cavities filled is not very fun for me.

DH is so lucky. Last time we went they told him he had no new cavities...although he was one of those ones that had a lot when he was a kid and I had none as a kid. Still, part of me is just hoping that this time he'll have at least one cavity so I won't be alone.

I think you'll have 3.;) My pregnancies caused my wisdom teeth to appear.:(

Good luck today.:)

Hopefully neither of you will have any new ones, Aurora. If you do, small and painless. :)

Hopefully you'll have NO new cavities! You know, that's interesting that your husband had a lot when he was a kid and none as an adult. Same thing with me. I read somewhere that it's because, since cavities are caused by bacteria, if you have a lot as a kid you build up a heightened immune response to that kind of bacteria. I wonder if that is true? Seems like if it is, they could give you an antibacterial mouthwash or something...

Well, it's not very good news. I had FIVE new cavities, so that's 7 total and I have to go back in on the 10th to have them filled :(

But at least this time when I went I got the laughing gas. I couldn't have it last time since I was pregnant but I got it this time (I wasn't sure if I could since I was nursing but they said it's perfectly okay) and I slept through almost the whole visit.

Princess Aurora sorry to hear about your cavities. I hate going to the dentist too. I think they should knock you out, fix whatever, wake you up and send you home, never knowing what hit you ;) I also wanted to let you know some of us going at the end of Sept are going to try to get together--maybe Sept 25 or 26. We were thinking SAB since several of us are staying at the YC. You should pop over and join us.

Hope the next visit and fillings goes well for you, Aurora. Wow, seven!!

Lucky you, your dentist will give you Nitrous. My dentist won't do that. Sorry about the cavities. Hope you get painless fillings :)
