I have to choose

Hi Guys

Just by chance last week I happened to have my monthly statement from Airmiles and my statement from Holiday Inn Priority Club land on my desk at the same time. Half an hour later and myself, my wife and my 5 year old son are heading out to DLP in 2 weeks time, first class on Eurostar for the grand total of £150 including train, hotel with breakfast and park tickets.

Now we will arrive on the Tuesday afternoon, have all day in the park on Wednesday and travel back on Thursday but for £150 and at silly short notice who cares.

BUT

The Holiday Inn package is for ONE PARK ONLY so I need to make a choice. Looking online I think that Walt Disney Studios looks more grown up whilst Disneyland Park looks more suited for a 5 year old.

Is this a fair assumption?

Thanks

Hi MarkR, welcome to the DIS! :welcome: What a bargain trip ~ it would have been rude not to go at that price!! :rotfl:

You're right ~ if you've only got tickets to one park then definitely make it Disneyland Park. Your son will love Fantasyland, I'm sure he'll also love Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast in Discoveryland.

You can leave visiting the Studios for another time!! :goodvibes

Thanks. Yes it would have been rude ;)

To be fair the only reason for the £150 was to upgrade to 1st class on Eurostar otherwise it would have been free

I knew 10 years of saving Airmiles would pay off sooner or later.

I would recommend that you go to the Disneyland Park too. Your son will love it. I am so jealous - what a bargain. I booked a similar trip - go on Tues, parks on Wed & home on Thurs for 4 weeks time, just me and my 6 yr old daughter (husband staying at home to babysit) but it is costing me way more than you.

Have a great time. Just expect big crowds & plan ahead to make the most of your day.

Disneyland Park for me too!!!:thumbsup2

We have two firls and going to Fantasyland is A-MUST!!!

The park is bigger, there's lots more to see and to do, Buzz and Autopia (cars the kids can 'drive') are something your son will like, Dumbo and all the other rides are perfect for a 5 year old.

And you can always go back there if you want to visit the Studios

Enjoy your trip!

Big thumbs up for Disneyland Park from me too :thumbsup2

Way more for a 5 year old to do and the parade is AMAZING!!!

What a great price you paid. The only problem you will have now is that you won't be able to wait another 10 years to save up airmiles before you HAVE to book you next trip!!!!!! :rotfl: ;) ;) :rotfl: ;) ;) :rotfl: ;)

Enjoy

Definately Disneyland Park for your full day, just wondering though what time you're arriving Tuesday afternoon ? With the main park open til 11.00pm and WDS open til 7.00pm would it not be worthwhile getting a park hopper ticket for Tuesday ? :)

A great bargin, as others have said for your full day Disneyland is the better choice:thumbsup2

I've got to agree with everybody else on this one. The studios is a good park, but the main disneyland park is larger, has more rides, better theming. and is generally a better park Plus, many of the rides in the studios have similar rides in the Disney park, where as the reverse is not true.
