We've been planning this vacation since April and we still don't have all of our ADRs! And just today we found out that we had two dinners on one day accidently so we had to change one of them to an earlier date and change our relaxation day to a day earlier.

And we STILL don't have our last ADR. All the places in the MK were booked so we had to settle for our third choice.

Let me show you our ADRs

Crystal Palace 9/25
Beaches & Cream (no ADR but plan on going there) 9/26
50s Primetime Cafe 9/27
Whispering Canyon Cafe 9/28
Raglan Road 9/29 (had to change because of booking it on wrong day)
Le Cellier 9/30
No ADR 10/1
Chef Mickey's 10/2
Kona Cafe 10/3 (only breakfast during trip)

Any reccomendations for people who just like meat & potatoes and non-fancy food?

Well, I don't know what park you will be in or if you've even planned that, but there's Liberty Tree Tavern in MK, or Ohana at the Poly..........

Oh, yeah, Biergarten in Germany..........tons of meat and great potatoes, not to mention great dessert. We had an awesome meal there last December. We had always heard about it but had never tried it. We're down again to try it in August. :)

Edited to add: And no, I don't think you are an idiot at all. I think it's almost a shame that we have to plan this far ahead just to get a table! I know some say just go with the flo, but if I want to eat at Le Cellier, I want to eat at Le Cellier and Marrakesh is just not going to cut it! :rotfl:

Concourse Steakhouse? Yachtsman Steakhouse? :earsboy:

1900 Park Fair?
Cape May Cafe?

Both buffets w/ lots of yummy basics....

We're going the exact same time - I did my ressies a while ago (only thanks to the DIS boards.....never would have before....) And now I can truly see it was a good thing. Good, good luck!!! :sunny:

All of these restaurants are completely booked.
Tis a shame. :sad2:

Concourse, Boma?? completely booked all week? Wow.

Ok. Then I would go with the character buffets. They always have lots of meat to choose from and good potatoes.

1900 Park fare
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys

these are in the order of my 1st choice to 3rd, but I loved them all.

If none of these, I would try Trails End at Fort Wilderness. I've heard a lot of good about that one, but we've never tried it.

For meat and potatoes~ non-fussy type of food, Id do a buffet. Its all there (unless my memory fails me) Its been so long

We're going 9-22 - 9-29 and Chef Mickey's is not available all week. Coral Reef is only available for lunch and same with Concourse.

We loved the Liberty Tree Tavern last month. The characters came around so I think we saw each one about 4 times and the food was great. So I would try to get in there. Nancy

Spoodles
Wolfgang Puck Cafe
Cape May Cafe
Yacht Club Galley
Whispering Canyon
Turf Club Bar & Grill
Olivia's

Quite sad, nearly everything is booked.
Out of ANYWHERE in all of WDW that accepts the DDP, what is your favorite restaurant? (Counting 2 TS)

Hrmm... I'm going the week after and have yet to book an ADR... :confused3 If they are all booked up that week too, looks like we'll be doing a lot of CS!

I've been putting it off waiting to see what F&W events come up... Of course free dining won't be going on then so hopefully it won't be as hard to get ADRS (especially for only 2 people).

Actually free dining could run until October 10th. Since you only had to book by Sept. 30 to get the package. There are plenty of folks on the boards reporting that they will be there with the free dining plan throughout the first week of october, so you better get going on those ADRs--though I agree, making them for 2 is alot easier. I made my mid-October ones months ago, some are for 2, some 6 and one 8, so had different group sizes at different times. good luck!

Kona Cafe at the Poly has some awesome steak!!

1900 Park Fair buffet has some great prime rib...

Biergarten may be a fun place to try at Epcot

Keep us posted!!
