I have something positive to say about this week

Just so you under how it works. You book 1 genie +. You are unable to choose another until you ride the 1st one. As the day progresses they have less availability. Yesterday I was refreshing and I couldn’t get 4 for my family. I tried for two parks. Soarin. Test track. Nemo was available but it was also about a 15? Min wait. Doesn’t really make sense for paying a premium

I'm confused. If you can't get more LL reservations until you ride the first one, then how do people "stack" LLs? (I'm not referring to ILL but the regular LLs you get with Genie+).

Smuggler's Run - there was a Millennium Falcon virtual attraction that traveled museums and science centers years ago, very, very similar to Smuggler's Run. Flights of Passage reminds me of the virtual ride at the old DisneyQuest, the magic carpet thing. Rise of the Resistance seems pretty unique to me though. Ratatouille is a copy of the one in France, of course. Disney doesn't make unique rides for the most part now, just recycled from other parks, IMO.
From what I have read on the boards, they completely copied Ratatouille down to the problems. I went to Disneyland Paris in October of 2015 and wanted to ride it. I got in a 40 minute line three times only to have it stop just when I got to the ride itself and they cleared everyone out of the queue requiring we start over. After the third I decided I had already invested way to much time in it and gave up.

You can't book another one unless you use the first on, OR after 2 hours have passed. So people book their first one at 7am for much later in the day, then at 9, book a second one, etc until they are caught up in the middle of the day. The mornings are spent going on low line rides and then they use up all of their Genie+ selections later in the day. You don't have to do it that way, you can book for the soonest ride, but the more popular ones run out and some days, all of them run out by the afternoon. Probably because so many are doing what I mentioned first.

It’s not 9am though. You can book 2 hours after the park opens. So if you booked for MK and it opens at 9 you can’t book your 2nd one until 11am or if you ride before 11.

Thanks. I thought that it was 9. Can they make it any more confusing. LOL

Looks like a delightful day!

Thank you for the clarification. And the strategy!

So true. Modern imagineers could never conceive of an attraction as loved as Haunted Mansion. Today's imagineers think merely in terms of carnival ride knock-offs.
What carnivals do you go to where rides like rise of the resistance, flight of passage, tron and guardians are at? Must be awesome!

Yeah, and Haunted Mansion reminds me of the ride through haunted house attraction that shows up at the county fair every year.

Dumbo. So unique.
Small World. Ground breaking.

I can go on, but you get the point. Nothing is "original". It all comes from an idea that was sparked somewhere else. The theming is better. The technology totally new. Heck, the tiki room was inspired by a toy! (and was the RotR of it's day).

Small World was ground breaking at the time of its creation. It first debuted at the 1964 World's Fair. It was the leading example of constant loading attractions. While people had to wait for the other attractions at the fair, they could ride Small World (had a different name then, I think?) with very little wait due to the boats, etc. It revolutionized the industry.

But I agree about Dumbo, although it fits in with the movie. Fairground fliers were usually planes.

Sorry for the delay in responding but yes. If u make the first at 7. Then next time it allows u to choose another is 11. As u ride one it allows u to pick another. Problem is if you where looking for anything “popular “. They would be gone by 11 Alien saucers always was there. We didn’t get any Star Wars ride other than star tours over our 6 days we waited 120 mins for smugglers Nothing in toy story. Got tower of terror and rnr by having it as my first choice at 7 on two separate days. Flights of passage needed to buy at 7. Day had to be shifted to accommodate the random times given. Had to cancel a few dining reservations. Just to compare to our experiences at universal at end of week. Stayed at hard rock with free skip the line and 8am park opening. They let everyone in parks but quickly scanned resort guest on the way to different sections never bunched up. Not like the crush of people at mk for early 30 mins The non skip the line was velocicoaster but it was never over 50 min. We rode twice. Hagid motorbike was also excluded line reached 110 min. Everything else we walked on Same week Still a lot of people but somehow managed the crowds and queues.
