What is the food like? What time does the pool close? Can I keep my beagle in a wire cage outside all day while we are gone??? LOL

Seriously, Erica and I are talking about tickets, and we can't decide what to do....

Should we get a 4 day for me, and one for matt, and use the one we had bought for my aunt (she isn't able to come this trip) Total price about $450, and then rent an ecv for the 4 days, another $200.

Or should we just get 3 10 day tickets, and do 10 1/2 days in the parks without ecv, total around $700....

I am pretty sure I can handle walking for 4 or 5 hours, with some chemical help... lol but can't handle the whole day walking. We have to come back to the camper anyway to let the mutts out.

What do "yins" think?

I would go with the ECV!!!! DH swears by his!!

One thing you might check into (if you have room), is check into renting one locally from a medical service provider and bring it with you.

Before insurance bought Rick his new one, and the old one that was my grandmother's was not working real well, we found a local provider that rented us one for $80.00 for a WEEK!!!!

It's worth looking into!!

I can check..but I know I had gotten some information a while back from gests services at the WL regarding medical supply companies that deliver any type of medical equipment directly to the resort, and there was no delivery charge. I remember the rates to be pretty reasonable. Way less than renting a motorized chair from Disney each day. This way, you'd have it availble to you in the campground as well, should you want to use it. Likely if you were to call FW directly, they may even be able to recommend a couple of companies for you to call for rates.

Yep, there are many local Orlando companies that rent ECVs and deliver directly to the resorts.

If you go to the disABILITIES board here on the DIS, there is a FAQ that lists all of the companies that DISERs have used and recommend. They are definitely less expensive than renting from the parks each day.

A few years back when we were at the Fort my sister broke her foot stepping out of my parents TT. She then found a ECV rental company and they delivered to the site at the fort. Wish I remembered who she used but I don't. But it was half the price of disney and she had it 24/7.

My dad has an extra one I could bring, just don't know where I would put the silly thing, gotta bring the golf cart don't ya know!!! LOL The biggest problem I have with not using disney's is that you have to put it on the bus or boat, get it off, then repeat it on the way back, plus you have to worry about someone stealing it, with theirs, you pick it up you drop it off, and if you loose it, they bring you a new one LOL.

I guess my question was more about NOT having to use one, I feel VERY VERY self conscious when I am in one, (lots of people looking at me and saying look at the big fat guy who is just too lazy to walk).

I don't know, every way has it's pro's and cons.....

Well then John, there is your answer!! Does the one your dad has come in pieces?? If so, do this. Buy the larger tickets!!

Take your dad's ECV apart. Put the seat on the bed, put the batteries under the dinette table, and take the main body and put it in the hallway in the camper.

Then once you get to the Fort, put it all back together, park it outside the camper and put a gas grill cover on top of it.

Then go enjoy the parks!! Walk as much as you feel you can. Then if you get to where you NEED the ECV, you have it!!

My dad uses a ecv. We cut a piece of plywood to fit his TT door and drive the ecv right on in. If you do take your dads ecv make sure the batteries are good. But if they are not my dad has bought them down in Florida not to far from disney. Instead of using the buses use your truck. Bring the ecv down in the trailer. Then once you are at disney haul the ecv in the back of the truck. We quit using the buses along time ago and it is so much better.

Use the ECV, ................ I need a ride.

To heck with what people think, do what makes you and your family more comfortable.

It's just my opinion, but I believe Matt would be pizz'd if you got a 4-day for you and a 1-day for him, :confused3

:lmao::lmao:
