But the responsibility, IMO, is on the owners. You made a deal (contract) that you could not fulfill.
Whether you realize it or not, owners entered into a business transaction. Any business incorporates risks.
I truly wish I could start a business without risk that says I will get paid without delivering the goods. I could make a fortune.

Owners need to realize this is the price of ownership, and doing business.

I will say paying David’s back and renter gets a “voucher” is not right.

Just curious what and how much risks a rental broker such as David's should bear in this business transaction? Do you think the commission they make is only good for match-making?

No, and good question. David’s, imo, has been negligent from the onset with their incomplete, unvetted (imo) contracts. I truly believe they should not make a dime off these transactions.
They are also a business, and need to share in the “suck it up” aspect.
My main point is the renters did fulfilled their obligations, but were not delivered the product.

This issue has been argued ad-nauseam for several hundred messages in the now 2k+ message thread regarding David's.

I don't understand why you'd start another thread about it.

Agreed. OP should post his 2 cents in the other thread...

Aren't you a pilot or work for an airline? Of course they've never been known to try or even do something like this.....

Well, maybe once or twice. ;)
