Okay so are planning to drive to Disney in September and I have NEVER been in a plane, and actually not sure if I ever will. However the 2 hour flight verses the 16 hour drive has me tempted.:lmao: Okay so since I have NO experiance with ANY flights what so ever.....can someone tell me what the "ding is" and also I know a red eye is a late night flight right? Are they cheaper? What should a 2 hour nonstop flight cost. Are children cheaper than adults? Sorry I know theres a lot of questions but like I said I know nothing about flying. growing up my dad always drove us on all our vacations....Maybe this is why Im afraid of flying and havent tryed it yet HUH?:rotfl: Sure sounds better than driving 1000 miles with 3 kids and 3 adults!

Ding is a special sale by SWA-you must have the ding software down loaded to recieve the ding and then you have a limited time to respond to the sale(several hours). This is avail directly from the SWA site.

Red Eyes are over night flights (usually from the west coast) getting you in to the East Coast intime for AM business 7-9am.

2hr ns flight cost varies per airline...I use www.itasoftware.com or www.sidestep.com to see what deals are out there and then book directly on the airline website.

Most(not all) charge children the same price as adults.

It might be cheaper to drive depending on when you are flying...there are certain times that there are limited sales(Easter for example)...At the top of the transportation page there is a stickey with links to useful pages. You might want to look at the Fuel cost caculator site and decide if the 3A can do an over night drive vs flying.

Post your trip dates, people and airports that are near you and we will help you figure it out. Good Luck

Just as a broad search I found NWA 184 RT= 1100 tl vs 300 in fuel for driving...I would guess that is why your Dad drove;)
