i have one more question changing my points i already booked to dcl

i already booked my vacation for next year 12 nights in a dvc resort, now im thinking i want to try out the dcl only a three day. can i change the points i already booked them three days to dcl. i know they have a policy if you go to the disney collection they cannot go back to the dvc resorts, but does it go the other way. thanks

You can cancel / change your DVC reservation at any time. Depending on when you cancel, you may lose the points or there may be booking restrictions attached to them.

As long as you cancel /change 31 days or more ahead of planned arrival, your points go right back to your account with the same status they had before booking. (For example, if you used points that were banked or borrowed to make the 12 night reservation, they will still be banked or borrowed points when they are returned to your account).

Since you vacation is for next year (which is way more than 31 days from now), no worries - go ahead and change the vacation to 9 nights in the DVC resort and 3 nights on DCL. No penalties or restrictions will attach to the points you "free up" from the 12 night DVC reservation.

No you can change.

not a problem - just remember if you cancel your DL trip. then they go into reservation points not back to DVC points. You must use them for something besides DVC resorts and maybe the world collection (not sure on this one).

so be pretty certain before you make this reservation.

Only problem might be when you have booked your trip. If it is occurring in your next use year (i.e.,you have Jun 05 points and booked for July 06) what you have done is banked your points to use them in the next use year. So you could only use them during that use year. You can't pull them back into this use year.
