I have officially had it with the new VMK.

I just really want to rant because i crashed very randomly playing mansion today, and i had already caught about 50 ghosts. Why did they JUST HAVE TO UPDATE VMK???
bottom line: The new vmk stinks. Old vmk should come back.
Other reasons:
No competition in any games anymore because of all the crashing. What kind of computer do they use at Disney? Windows 2020?

Yes. If you measured ram taken up (which I found out) it takes up approx. 200MBs of ram. an average computer has about 512 MBs. Throw in the operating system (around 30MB) and your virus protection (around 50-75MBs), plus the other programs you are running (Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, VMK Pal,) Do I hear an overage of Ram? (Info collected from Windows Task Manager)

yes i have had the same problem
everytime i try to play fireworks... i get to about stage 3 or 4 and it crashes
so much for "improved"

Um, bumps on these kinds of threads aren't really needed. Just an FYI.

The Haunted Mansion has been buggy from the start, for me, at least. I doubt they'll ever fix it to where we don't crash. Nice thought, though!

Especially in less than 24 hours. This is the VMK board, not the Community Board.

I'm having a lot less crashing than normal, I still have yet to attempt mansion.

Add me to the list of the unhappy. And i'm connecting via a cable modem. I cannot imagine what it is like for people using dial up.

The lag is horrendous, each room takes for ever to load, if it loads at all. Playing ghosts or pirates is next to impossible, I either have so much lag that i'm a sitting duck to be blown up or hit by the ghosts, or I DC. My scores in both games have gone hugely down hill. i couldn't even tell you what I have in my inventory. Each screen takes 30-45 seconds to load. Instead of seeing my inventory, all I see is a scrolling square. And that happens with each page.

And dont even get me started with the swirly blue thing when I first log in.

I hope these bugs get fixed quickly. I haven't complained before now, because I know it takes time, but this has been going on long enough that I would hope they're working on it.

The reason it was "falling fast" is because many people realize that with any updated game, it can take a few weeks to get the kinks out. Complaining here will do nothing to solve your problems. I play a lot of online games and this happens with the majority of them. Then every week that passes it gets better and better

Maybe writing to them explaining what is going on will help them locate the problem a little easier.

It's one of the doomed if you do, doomed if you don't.
I hear complaints all the time "We need new things in VMK", "We need new games", "I wish they did things differently".
Well, when they finally change things for the better I might add, all I hear is more complaining. The people who run VMK are only human. They make mistakes, which come in the form of bugs. They'll get fixed. Give them time. Remember, Disneyland's first day was horrible, and now it's one of the premier theme parks in the world.
Change is good. Look at the inventory changes, the new items. Stop complaining when all VMK is trying to do is add more variety and fun to the game.

another thing to add:
sometimes i play castle fireworks, and by the end of the game, i am the ONLY PERSON REMAINING. I know this might not be a bad thing for some people, but i like the competition.

It's funny because I think the dc issue is a million times better than it was a year ago. Don't get me wrong, recently I've been having the same dc problems with fireworks. It is awfully frustrating but a year ago I couldn't play vmk in general for longer than thirty minutes without dc'ing so I think it is a huge, huge improvement, and I do have dsl just for reference. These days I can usually play for much longer without any dc issues, although I have noticed it a bit more frequently lately. Maybe it's because all of the people on for Halloween festivities?
