Ok so I booked 10 days two rooms next August . The points used are a mix of points of banked , current and borrowed.

The ressies were not all made at once , so I have different use year points for different days and rooms.

Let me see if I can say this in a way that makes sense.

For the 2 nd room I had canceled my first night of our vacation in January to have the points back . They were 2005 points . I used them and borrowed points from 07 for 5 nights for this ressie. I then needed to add days to this ressie so I bought more points . I cancelled the last night to use those points in the front part of the ressie and used new contract points of 06 and 07 points to finish adding the dates I needed.

My question is I have U/Y points all over my reservation. IF I needed to cancel one day or two. Can/Will MS just take out 2006 points so I can bank them for later use or do they specifically have to cancel dates with the 06 points? If staying Sunday through Saturday and 06 points are Wed and Thurs. am I out of luck?

Thanks for your patience and hope I wasn't to confusing , oh wait it was confusing.

THANK YOU

You could go to the official DVC member website and log in as a member. Then check under your points for the contracts. They will tell you exactly which points were used for which days.

MS can reallocate the points used so the banked/borrowed points are used first. Just let them know what you want to do when you call to make changes to your reservation.

Enjoy! :)

I'd go a step further than Doc. Sit down and look at your reservations and try to decide what part is the most at risk. That's where you want your current use year points and you any banked or borrowed points on your most stable days. Usually that means changing the points around so that one of the units has all of the banked and borrowed points as much as possible and the other is mostly current use year points. That way if one has to cancel, you could cancel one entire week and have most or all the points you could potentially bank. And if you had to, you could try to rent the other unit for part or all of the time.

Thanks Guys. I know Banking / Borrowing are final , and that with a DEC U/Y I have until May 31 , 2007 to bank 100% of my current use year points. I know about holding status and all that. What I wasn't sure about is HOW points are allocated and I THANK BOTH OF YOU. I think I'll call this weekend and see if I can have the points from 2006 put into the reservation that could change the most.

I gave friends and family until May 15 to make final decision although earlier would be better.

Thank You again for your help.
