I have new information on Key West Stuff

As most know, I lost my uncle was who almost my last connection to my childhood 2 weeks ago - anyhow I was in Key West this weekend and took time from a very heartaching chore and decided to check into the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory located in Key West - I was in awe over something so beautiful and so intertaining for not only children, but adults as well - I was so tired of nothing for children to really do since Key West is an adult playground - These are the prices:

Adults are 10.75 which includes 7.5% sales tax (6 for the state and 1.5 for the city)

Children - from 4 to 12 is 7.50 plus the sales tax
Seniors - 65 and up is $8.50 plus the sales tax

I have numberous of folders that offer 10% off which I would be most happy to send to anyone that wants them - I have offered many times to send Key West packages to anyone who wants them - there are no strings attached EXCEPT an SASE (it needs about $3.50 worth of stamps) - mail it to me and I will be more than glad to share all the information I have -

Thanks for taking the time out of what must have been a very heart wrenching weekend. Hope it all went well and as smoothly as possible.

I have a question about July 4th and the Port. Since our cruise leaves on the 5th, and we are coming in the night before, I was wondering if there are any local fireworks or celebrations?

Funny you mention the Butterfly Conservatory...just this afternoon, my DD and I were looking over the Key West map and saw the Butterfly info. We will definitely do it!

One thing, though...I had booked the DCL excursion for the trolley tour....I cancelled it today because I heard here that the DCL trolley doesn't make stops, but the regular one does.

Am I on the right track?

Hey there all,
Thanks for the kind words - now I do have information on the trolley bus at the shop so will have to look it up - you are most welcomed to send for all this stuff by just sending me the SAPE -
I picked up a lot more goodies this trip.
As for the fireworks - oh yes we have some wonderful ones here -

RON JON's which is right on A1A, will be having theirs off the ocean - it is awesome - those interested in the fireworks, just keep in touch with me and will let you know as time gets closer - the Ron Jon's fireworks are without no doubt, the place to be -

As for the Butterfly musuem - believe me you can not go wrong -
I was very very impressed. Wish they would have had something like that when I was growing up there
Anyhow time to get ready to get ready to go to the shop.

Shirley, my deepest condolences for the loss of your uncle. It's always hardest when the connection is gone from our childhood. In your grief, you always think of others though and that is your gift.

I pray that you will find peace in the coming weeks knowing that there are many of us who have never met you but know your heart and keep you in ours.

I just wanted to extend my condolences to you on your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts.


As a side note, if you have time to do the butterfly conservatory, I would reccomend it! We have a butterfly house here at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. I went for the very 1st time last year, and it was very neat. I got to see a humming bird for the 1st time! I'm sure that the one in Key West is a lot nicer, than here in hickville! LOL My kids thought it as very neat.

And yes, the Butterfly Garden does sound very nice, especially for DS.

Hey everybody,
Just got some news that you might enjoying hearing - I spoke with Phil from Key West Cruisers Electric Cars and he has agreed that he will give each of those that rent from him a 20% off the rates of rentals - as I told him I did NOT want anything and to please just give it to those that came to him - Now the only catch is that if you call them at 888-800-8802, you MUST TELL THEM that Shirley FROM THE PERFECT GIFT recommend them to you and you must have my business card to show them - I send out what it seems like a 100 packages a month out to those that are taking a western cruise so that will be familiar with my hometown and don't run into any foolishness - I want you to be treated as the old conchs were with tourist - honest and upright -

Now no I do not know anything about a tour with historic boat tours - someone is always opening up something down there that I have never ever heard about - such as the ghost tours, kayaking, etc. I will be there within 3 weeks and will check it out and let everyone know.

I do recommend the conch train and trolley cars - I believe they are well beyond worth the monies and you get to ride and hear history of Key West - kinda boring for young children - it wasn't them that stopped the discounts - I am still working on them to give me discounts for you - in fact planning to see them when I go down so will let you know that also when I get back.

To everyone that has sent for the Key West and Space Coast information, all your packages have been sent - sure hope you enjoyed every bit of it - interesting huh and see as I promised you ;there were no strings attached.

Hi Mary - glad you got the package and glad it perked up your day - we are having a heat wave here inFla so I can not imagine the bad weather up your way - I always include some information that can help also here in Brevard and Orlando just to give each an extra helping hand -
To those that want these packages, you need a self addressed, envelope at least 8 to 9 inches long (lots of stuff) - it has been taking about $3.75 in postage - I get the stuff back to you within a day or so - it takes time to get it all together for you - my business card can be used at Touch of Gold, Key Cats, Key West electric cars, and a few others will recognized it and give conch rates - those that I have approached have been awesome with help and there are some that just are well they will never earn the name of fresh water conchs
