Ok I have to confess. I told my dear dear friend Chell that I would watch the POTC. I just cant do it , we have it on DVD but I cant do it. At the risk of having rocks thrown at me and having my official Tag Fairy De-coder ring taken away....I will say I DON'T like Johnny Depp . NO STONES please I am old and feeble

Ok there it is for all to see ...My shame ..........

He is so good as Captain Jack Sparrow that you won't notice it's Johnny Depp. You're missing a great movie!

Lori

Lori is right Mishell! Give it a chance. For me? Pretty please? You'll love it. I'm sure some of the Orlando fans around here can help convince you too! He's worth checking out!

When this was in the theatres....my DH bought me a ticket and made me go......boy am I glad he did. I'm not a big Depp fan or like pirate movies at all but this was a great movie. He plays the part so well you don't even think about his true identity. I would give it a try.....it will only be a few hours out of your day and it will be worth it.

I haven't seen it either. It will be on cable at some point.

You can always root for Barbossa to win! :teeth:

I have to agree... Johnny is so wonderful in this role that you can't even see that it is Johnny (if that makes sense). I admit when I first saw the movie it was because my DH wanted to go... now I am hooked :p

go. go watch it now. whether u like johnny or not, go watch it. please, for my sake. watch it.

Play it while you DIS. We can help you. Step by Step. One Johnny scene at a time. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

You know, I'll be honest with you, I am also not a Johhny Depp fan. He does not even seem to be Johnny Depp in this movie. I am telling you, you won't even recognize him!!!!

Give it a try. You won't be sorry!

I haven't sat through the whole thing either but I do LOVE Johnny Depp!

I have to admit that I didn't see POTC when it was first out. Someone gave me a poster of it and my comment was - I don't think I want to see any movie where Johnny Depp wears more eye make-up than me.

My MIL bought it on DVD and so we borrowed it. I was pleastantly surprised - great movie. Of course this was after I had seen Orlando Bloom in LOTR so that helped as well. :D

I still am not a Johnny Depp fan, but I thought he did a great job in this movie.

I didn't see it until it came out on DVD either. The commercials made it look too scary for me. But I was so glad I watched it.

I'm sorry, but you will need to turn in your ears right now. :earseek: [/QUOTE]

NOT THE EARS !!!!! ok ok I said I would try ....I hang my head with shame till I see it ........

I am a big Johnny Depp fan and have been for many years. But I do see movies that feature actors I detest just to give the movies and the actors themselves a chance. I never close myself off to something I MIGHT just enjoy.

It wouldn't exactly be that hard to rent the movie and give it a try. If you don't like it, just turn it off. I've rented slews of bad movies so I guess that I'm kind of casual about it.

Holycow!....Sit back and enjoy yourself the movie is pure old fashion FUN!

Let me just say I was NOT a Johhny Depp fan UNTIL this movie!:p It was an absolute must for under the tree at X-Mas.
Please give it a try and let us know what you think...now Haunted Mansion. well, the best thing in that movie was the Mansion itself, and the ghosts. I wouldn't be surprised at all if you had no desire to watch it. There was so much that could've been done with that subject matter too. I guess after POTC I had such high hopes. That and HM is my all time favorite ride. I used to save my "E" tickets to ride it over and over years back.

Well, you know, Johnny Depp and me, we're pretty close...;) No, seriously, this is no "Edward Scissorhands". Check it out, you'll be glad you did.pirate: pirate: pirate:
