At last I booked our flights today exactly 90days out. They've been 590ish indirect and 700+ VA direct for some time. The VA sale put them down to 682 but I held out and the new Delta/VA has pulled through for us!!! 580pp for direct VA there and indirect 1 stop Delta home.
As soon as I got our etickets I logged into VA and there were 2 bubble seats left together so I booked them knowing how sought after they are! :cool1:

However, I'm not 100% sold. My options are;
1 middle and 1 aisle seat in bubble : I have read mixed reviews and unsure if the pros outweigh the cons. Read reviews of slow service/more cramped conditions?
2 seats together at back of lower deck; DH and I always try to sit together on a 2 seat configuration as we like the convenience and privacy of being just us there but we know we'd be last off.
What would you recommend?
TIA x

all the way at the back of the lower deck? you mean the very very back of the plane? it's horrible back there...at least i can't stand it there...
but i don't know what economy is like in the bubble - i love sitting up there, but that's when i'm in upper class....i've never been in economy up there...

but between that and the very last row of the lower deck it would be upper deck for me....

the last time i sat at the back of a plane we had really bad turbulence and back there it was a million times worse!!

We always do the above - the 2 seats right at the back
Just makes for a much more relaxing journey - no one kicking your seat or pushing past you.

We've done both, It's good to be in the bubble on the way out as you are in the 1st few off the plane and get a head start for customers etc. The only downside was the fact that the overhead lockers are slightly smaller.

Yep we do as well. Always try and get the two seats configuration at the back of the 747. I would do this rather then be in a 3 seat configuration in the bubble anytime. Its swings and roundabouts really. I am not fussed about being 1st off the plane, its just not important to me. I would rather have 9 1/2 hours of good seats instead.:)

I might stick with where we are. I don't know how much difference it makes in reality but the claim that the back of the plane is most affected by turbulence makes me uncomfortable because I'm a very nervous flier.
I wonder if the novelty of the bubble for economy is exactly that and therefore overrated.
I like to have a window seat - except when in a 3 seat configuration as we did this once and I felt awful every time DH or I asked the guy on the end to let us out - plus it's a nightmare trying to get out when the person in front is reclining!

on second thought, if those seats at the back of the plane are by themselves - just two seats together by themselves - there definitely is something to be said for that....not having to rub shoulders with anyone else is very nice..

thanks everyone - it turns out that being sandwiched between DH and a stranger is something I really would like to avoid now that I've thought about it so now we're right at the back for better or worse, but we'll be together - alone! :rotfl:

I've been up in the bubble but it was P.E. not economy. It was much better up there but whether that holds true with economy seats, I don't know. I had no complaints at all being in the bubble (Other than Virgin sitting our 8 year old autistic child on her own :furious:) and prefer it to being in the lower deck.
