I was leaning towards Senator McCain. I liked his history and values.
Initially, I was excited by his selection of Sarah Palin (indeed, after her selection I posted a note about my voting for McCain). However, after more information about her, I grew cautious. Then, I grew alarmed.
Furthermore, after viewing the threads on this board for the last month, I can make this statement: the supporters of Senator John McCain are peeing in their pants about the possible election of Senator Obama. There are LOTS more anti Obama threads being started every day, as opposed to support McCain. Hence, many are afraid of Senator Obama being elected, but they cant seem to come up with Support McCain threads.
I belong to the school of thought: If the Vocal masses are against something, then it must be worth something.
To repeat: if so many DIS contributors believe that Senator Obama will be disastrous to this country, based on mostly hearsay evidence or such, then he is probably alright.
I listen to Rush Limbaugh everyday, for at least a few minutes. Today, for example, he went on and on about the aunt of Senator Obamas living in a slum. He has done this for the past few days. He also keeps referring to Senator Obamas having a relative living in a hut in Kenya.
I dont care. To Rush: I may well have relatives living in slums, but that does not change my political thought. I also feel it unkind for you to summarily refer to said Aunts neighborhood as a slum. Maybe she does not feel that way. Some people live where they feel comfortable. Some people do not want hand-outs from rich relatives. I know. I have been there. I have lived in poor neighborhoods.
As for Kenya? Who cares? Do you expect Senator Obama to move his relative to some place in the capitol city? Against his will? Kenya, Rush, is not a rich country. Many live in huts. Not all live in Nairobi (the capital).
Many who contribute to this board are obvious listeners of Rush and Sean. You can tell because they tend to contribute to this board soon after Rush is off the air (dont believe me? Watch this board around noontime).
In summary: I have been persuaded by not only the words of Senator Obama, but the outcries of the Conservative group on this DIS board: Senator Obama may not be my ideal candidate, but after reading all the posts by the McCain supporters, I will go with the Socialist, Communist, Do-Gooder, etc.

I thøught yøu said yøu were før whatever møst peøple are against - that it's yøur "schøøl øf thøught." I just wøndered that meant yøu liked New Cøke, since møst peøple are against it. I døn't think it's a liberal/cønservative thing.
