In the late 70's and the early 80's we lived in Southern California and my mom and I have always wondered about a resturant and we could never find the entrance or any thing about it. It is is Disneyland and you can see it while riding on the Pirates of the Cribbiean. If any one know what im talking about Please answer it drove us nuts, we didnt know if it was just for people who work there or what.

IS IT STILL OPEN? What is the name? What kind of Food? and the prices? In information would be helpful like picture and stuff

I would like to take my children and have the same memories i have.

It is a wonderful restaurant, great ambience. You can get it it by New Orleans Square, just right of the train station if you're coming off the train station. (I would trust the map you get at DL more than my directions!).
As far as food, I remember having delicious crab cakes there. I think DH had a monte cristo sandwich. You might want to check around to the different DL websites and see if someone has a menu.
Have fun! It has got to be one of the best places to eat in and around DL.

You might want to check out the post above about dining reviews. It has some good info about Blue Bayou. I can't imagine having a bad meal there.....

Just to clarify. It is great food, ambiance and atmosphere. However, it technically isn't the only table service in the park. The carnation cafe between the emporium and the bakery is also full service.

Just didn't want to forget that. I've had many a tasty puff pastry pot roast there. (But I think the menu has changed). ;)

P.S. - Go to Blue Bayou at lunch. The only time you can get a monte cristo. ;)

Yes, the Blue Bayou is still there. I remember the Monte Cristo sandwiches well, but I have to say that in retrospect that the food was…well it was good, but not great. The ambience on the other hand made it a really special experience.

We used to go straight there as soon as the park opened to get our priority seating. But I don't know if that is still necessary since Downtown Disney opened. There is lots of quality dinning there.

Go past Pirates and turn left into New Orleans Square. It's on the left and there is a CM waiting to book Priority Seatings. Unless they have recently changed, you have to book it there because there isn't a central booking service like they have at WDW. Go as soon as you enter the park, then hit Splash Mountain. (Just had to slip in a DL tip!)
