...my husband got a job!!!!!!!

After 19 months of unemployment, he was offered an awesome job this morning at a great up and coming company! A good friend of his works there and recommended him to a hiring manager several months ago. He had a phone interview and has been in twice for in-person interviews. Here's the crazy part: This is the 3rd job they considered him for. The first time he went in, they told his friend that they really liked him and thought he was a great fit for the company. They just weren't sure his background fit with that particular job. Then they called him to interview for another job a few weeks ago. It was the same story: The people really, really liked him but didn't think the job was exactly right for him. Just before christmas, the first hiring manager sent him an e-mail saying they had another position opening up that would be perfect for his background and skills. It was obvious that they really, really wanted to find him the right job in the company. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but i figured the 3rd time had to be a charm.

He had a phone call scheduled with the manager for this morning so he went into our den and closed the door to wait for it. He came out and said he had a verbal offer and they would be working up the offer letter! I can't express what a huge relief this is for us. He didn't get all that many interviews in the past 19 months, but we did have several periods of sitting on pins and needles for weeks and then being disappointed when he wasn't hired. Looks like it finally happened for him, and it was just in time for my birthday tomorrow!

For those still looking for jobs, hang in there. It will happen for you too!
