Is this standard with changing reservations? I tried on Friday and sat on hold for 40 minutes and no one ever answered so I had to go. I want to add an extra night to our reservations and Disney is making it awfullly difficult. I thought Sunday morning around 11 am wouldn't be very busy, I was wrong clearly.

No. I would say its not standard...I usually get right on the phone with someone after going through the awful automated system. Sometimes, I get the message that call volume is higher than normal but that is pretty rare. If I had to wait that long, I would have made a lot less changes for our upcoming trip...my experience is that they make it tooooooo easy to make changes!! :lmao: I would say that weekend days would be busier than normal because people are home...try tonight after 8, it should be slower, or tomorrow morning...

I usually avoid that by working with a TA. Is there not also the option to change your package online?

I was on line for about 15 minute on Friday. Every time I got through someone would call:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Took me three times before I got through, only to find out that I couldn't change my ressie:sad1: I didn't even have a pin. :sad2: Sincerly doubt I'm going to get a pin because I want to go in the middle a convention in October. Would have changed my dates if I had known the stupid convention was going to be at WDW. We will be eating out of pocket this time around.

That happened to me on Friday when I called to change my dates. I was on hold for 20+ min. and finally hung up. Then I called later in the afternoon and was again on hold for about 20 min. before someone answered. Never happened when I called to make a new reservation!

Just called to see about a PIN and they said the wait would be over 25 minutes. Guess Ill try later too. I've never seen it that busy on a Sunday... :confused3

Maybe with the "rumored" free dining promotion coming sometime the first of next month, everyone is trying to get their reservations booked now so that they can quickly switch them to FD... just a guess!

Also, the current promotion is ending on Tuesday, so maybe lots of people
waited til the last minute to book that discount.

I called two times last week to change our reservation, was on hold for over 30 minutes once (I think on Wednesday), so I just hung-up. Called again this las Thursday, just before their 10/pm closing time, and got right through.

Good Luck!

So I finally got through and booked an extra day. I decided 5 days in the parks was just not enough disney for us and I NEEDED that 6th day, lol. I was hoping I may have a pin attached to my name but no luck. My husband says they have no incentive for giving me a pin because I keep booking more even without one. The CM did mention that I may want to call back in a couple of weeks and check again so I've got my fingers crossed that maybe I'll get lucky.

They have been updating the websites (they were down most of the day on the 23) the sites still are not working right so everyone, including TA's are calling stuff in.

Changes can't be made online by anyone, but I do hope they change this.
