of converting someone to the WDW religion!

DH just called from work and asked me to quickly research some dates in April for his co-worker friend. It seems this guy, who has been to Florida umpteen times without (gasp) ever having gone to WDW! (gasp again). DH has him just about convinced he NEEDS to go there.

I, with some difficulty, managed to wrangle a room at ASMu out of the CM for the dates in question. Now all I have to do is push this guy over the edge (and fast) and get him to confirm his ressie.

I think I'll start by e-mailing him lots of good Disney pictures. I know I can do it - I can convert a non-believer, I know I can!

Do you have any of the trip planning videos to lend him? Good Luck!

May the Mouse be with you!

:teeth:

Oh yes! Great idea - I've got trip planning videos up the ying yang! :D

I have been so very turned off of helping others for a vacation. SO had a friend at work who was going down to FL for a business trip and thought he might take his family (wife and two small children) with him. So he calls one night, to get a little info from me, because every one knows I am the resident Disney Freak  .....so I get all excited about their trip. They were really know-nothings when it came to any thing Disney. This would be their first trip. I said give me a little time and I will prepare you some info. I spent a couple of hours researching for their time frame (this was early January) and ended up typing them up this "preliminary" 8 page document on things they need to know. I included a pro/cons to staying onsite or offsite, info about using codes, making PSs for dinner, what tickets would be best for them, how much the are, and where to buy them, what are not to miss attractions, what parks to go to and when, an extensive list of online links they should go to....etc, etc, etc......and told them if they needed more info I would be happy to help, and I emailed this to them THAT NIGHT!!!! I never, ever received a response. No thanks for all your hard work, no this is really detailed, or this will help, NOTHING!! I was so upset, and tried to think why anyone would be that rude after someone had done so much work for them...so I consoled myself with the fact that they had maybe not received my email. The weekend after they got back, they asked us to go out to dinner with them. They get there wearing Disney sweatshirts and stuff, and talking about their trip. Half way through dinner, the wife mentions that they had gotten some tickets from her parents who had gone years ago and didn't use up their park hoppers, and the only reason they knew they were still worth anything was because I had told them that park hoppers will never expire! I knew then that they had gotten my email. I have still not forgiven them ;) !!!!

Hope your experience helping others was better than mine. I think I will stick to planning my own trips!

Does the guy enjoy golf, swimming, boating, any of that stuff? Maybe a session of whatever he typically enjoys would add incentive. Someone who has been to Florida that many times and has never been to WDW must have some aversion to going(like maybe he thinks it's all kids stuff?)
