okay, so I arrived yesterday and am in my room at DLR. Just a few observations .The room is very nice. We have an upper level theme park view on the top floor which does have a dvd player, not all rooms do but i guess since we are on the concierge level we got one. We did not pay for a concierge room but after a disappointing check in they gave me this nice room. it does not look dated in any way.the view is to die for. (took pics for TR) one thing for sure, it is very hot.. and I am from Arizona!!! I think it must have reached 90 for sure. Today we went to DCA and was desolate until noon, then picked up a little but not too crowded. most wait times were 10-20 min. TSMM was 1 hour. Best thing about this place was single rider line. I walked right on every major ride, yipee! I did see people abusing the priviledge though! :scared1:
ONe thing that suprised me was that I have had to deal with rude cm's, I have heard that the locals can be rude here. NOpe not at all. I have met some really good people here and on the rides. vaCATION PLANNING FORGOT my surpr ise bday cake for DBFand surprise basket for DD. I had to call and remind them, then they could not locate the gift basket for quite some time. Very dissappointed! Disneyland tomorrow.Hope my next report will be better! Still having a blast though despite the heat!

Disdreamer, hope your trip goes smoothly from here on in! Enjoy the magic! :wizard:

I would be sure to speak to a hotel manager about the gift basket and the birthday cake situation. That's simply not acceptable. They need to offer you some kind of compensation for having lost your order and not delivered on time.

Now go have fun! :yay:

I hope your trip goes well. I also would recommened talking to a manager or lead about the little surprises you had ordered.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!!:wizard:

Hey! I was at DL on the coldest days of the year! I survived. I hope you survive the heat!! Drink lots! Use plenty of sun screen! And have lots of fun and let the Magic find you!

Hi there. I am from Arizona too. We arrive next weekend. Is the 90 degrees there hotter than home? Is it humid? How would you equate the heat compared to one of our days like a 100 degree here? Thanks. Have a wonderful time.

Too bad about the cake and basket but I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip. Glad to hear that the lineups are not too long!

Just FYI... "Theme Park View" rooms are only available at GCH and PP. DLR calls them "Resort View" rooms. I find that strange though... Maybe because not all "Resort View" rooms can actually see one of the theme parks?
yes, that is interesting! I booked the room online through disney reservations and the woman described the room to me as theme park view so... i dunno. When I checked in at front desk, the man called it premium view. BUt I spoke with a couple this morning as we boarded the monorail that agreed that the staff seemed to be real short with visitors! They had the same problem at check in. hmmm...At least I did end up with a very nice room. Last night we left the balcony windows open and listened to the people in the park and DTD. It was surreal! My DD loves the view. She thinks it is the best part of this trip, besides the teacups!!:scared1:

thank you ! despite some minor problems with cm's and the resort billing for things that they have no idea what I was billed for, geez, I am having fun, my daughter has exceeded my expectations! Gonna go see the Parade of Dreams tonite ! yay!:cloud9: Oh we did DLR today and did a MM, the parks were nearly dead until 11a.m. then it got moderately crowded. Good news, not as hot today as yesterday, yay!

Hi there! The 90 here was humid, very uncomfortable. Compared to AZ? well, PHX heat is like being in an oven , but humid heat is like always feeling sweaty. lol! Today was 85 degrees. Still hot, but if you found shade from time to time it was okay. Of course nights are wonderful , just perfect. no jacket needed!

oh thankyou! I am determined to have fun. Just seeing my DD2 have a blast is worth it all!

Good advice, I certainly will talk to the lead . I noticed today that I was charged 30 dollars extra for the basket, I called VP and they said ooops we charged you for the wrong basket! And I willbe reimbursed in a week, also saw an additional charge on there for 20 dollars that nobody in this hotel can explain to me,Geez. I have decided not to spend any more time on the phone with them while at the park, maybe tomorrow.
Besides that I am having lots of fun. INdy has been broken down all day. I was almost onthe ride and it broke down on me the second time. the cm was mad and said that INdy was supposed to be down for refurbishment but after the new movie came out they decidedto leave it open. He said it needs to be repaired.
OH, almost forgot , I got dreamed today. Sweet lady gave us front row seats to BIll and HIllbillies but it was the 2:45 show and I had to bring DD back for her nap, so we passed them on to a nice couple that looked like they needed a break! They were thrilled. That counts as being dreamed right???lol!

We're here too and it and it does seem hot. We are from central california and it is 104 plus, but it seems so hot here. We went on TSM today and it was about 30 mins. I thought it was totally worth it. We are in a pool view in the wonder tower. They upgrade us from standard and said that they like to treat their DVC members better. I doubt it. After all the stuff that has been going on here with employees, I'm not surprised that some of them are grouchy. We haven't really noticed it though. I hope you have a good time.
