I have an impossible waitlist, but endless hope!

We wanted a lower point vacation, so instead of booking our trip, October 9th-16th, at BCV, we booked a 1-bedroom at OKW. We are owners there, and we just love it. We usually stay at BCV, but it was going to be about 50 extra points, so we decided to forego location, and just stay at OKW. They have great rooms and great parking!! So it is all good.

I did some research though, and saw that a standard view 1 bedroom at BWV was even fewer points than OKW!!! I was exactly 7 months out, so I set up a waitlist. I know in my head that the waitlist has pretty much no shot at coming through. My heart is a believer though!

I have had excellent luck in the past with wait lists coming through, but never for a week, and never during an in-demand time (like, I don't know? Food and Wine?) so I remain hopeful! I am managing my expectations, but it never hurts to hope and dream!

Anyone ever get an impossible waitlist? I need more hope!

I have an "impossible" waitlist too...BWV standard view 2BR during F&W. It's only for 2 nights (Oct 19 & 20) so that might make my chances slim instead of none;), but I still check every day to see if a miracle happened.

We hobbled together a trip for NYE, SSR studio-SSR 1br- 1 night at WLB, 1 night BACK at SSR, and last 3 nights at WLV. We have 2 wait lists to "fix" the awkward bounce in the middle (if either one comes through, it's golden.) We are really hopeful that it will all work out! I'll keep my toes crossed for you, if you'll do the same for me! People plan, and then back out all the time right?

I haven't gotten a "dream waitlist" but I have gotten a nearly impossible 2 bedroom at BCV during F&W at 7 months.

I know my daughter has gotten a standard BWV 1 bedroom at 7 months 2 years in a row during F&W. People cancel all the time and 1 bedrooms are the easiest to get.

It's hard to get a whole week in a row so maybe you could book a split stay getting what you can at BWV and filling in individual days until you get the vacation you want.

Good luck!

Have you been checking the website? Sometimes you can get some dates as others cancel and before they run the waitlist.

Two years ago, I needed to downgrade my 2 bedroom at BWV to a 1 bedroom in June for an October trip...they would not let me just drop the studio (which I understand is how its supposed to be handled) so I had to rebook at AKV and SSR for the 3 night weekend. Through wait lists and stalking the website, I was able, by the middle of July, to get all 3 nights back in a 1 bedroom Boardwalk view...never thought it would happen!

But, I was willing to split stay if need be as we were going for F & W and I wanted at least one night...ended up with all 3...keep checking the website...and, if you are willing to split stay, set up a wait list for a few nights at the beginning or ending of your trip...if those come in, reput yourself back on the wait list for just the nights still missing, and another one for just 1 night attached to the ones you get.

There are ways to slowly get yourself what you want if you are willing to stalk a few times a day.

Good luck!

Start checking the website to see if you can nab days here and there... And soon you will hopefully have your week!

I have never had good luck for a whole week waitlist coming through via Disney... However by "stalking" the website myself and adding a day here and there I nabbed my own week waitlist for T-day week this year!!! :wizard:

2 years ago we had a waitlist for a 2 bedroom 2 queens at BCV for New Year's Eve. We were going to have to move for just that one night, but I was fine with that and made alternate arrangements because I knew the waitlist wouldn't come through. I was super surprised when I got the confirmation email for that night! DVC properties were fully booked for New Year's Eve, BCV is a small and very popular resort, and I wanted a very specific room type. It can and does happen! :) Don't discount checking the website too though, as others have said. I've also pieced together reservations that way. Good luck!!

You do have a better luck getting a 1 bedroom standard than you do getting either as standard studio or a standard 2 bedroom. I booked a standard studio for oct 18 to nov 1. I booked at exactly at 8:00am at the 11 month window. By 8:02 am there were no standard studios left of that first week of oct 18th. So that wiped out standard studios and standard 2 bedrooms since all 2 bedrooms are lock offs. But standard 1 bedrooms sometimes pop up. Good luck. After my first stay at bwv I bought points there because I know how hard it I'd to get those standard rooms and that was 5 bwv contracts ago.

I had a wait list for a GV at BWV, checked the web page yesterday and all but one night were available. Called and booked it! Excited.... now just wait listed for just one night. But very torn...our last night is currently in a GV Park view at BLT........ whats a girl to do... hope the wait list comes through ... or cancel it and move for one night....I'm thinking it may be worth the move! Your dreams can come through....just hang in there.

So we booked a last minute trip for August 23-27. I had to wait list the first day completely because there are NO studios

Good luck!

I got a waitlist at AKV in concierge level earlier this year.

Update: DH found a 5 day 1br at Bay Lake!!!!!! It's not a wait list, but it just made our trip a billion times easier (and we're super stoked to stay there!!!)

Awesome! Glad it worked out well for you!

Wonder how it works when you "grab a few nights here and there"? Do you have to open a new wait list for missing nights?

You can open a new wait list... And at the same time keep looking for the days you need. I'll bet if you are looking you will find it faster than Disney!! Also a shorter wait list is easier to fill than a week long one especially during high volume times. :)

Another impossible here - looking for ANY studio for Halloween weekend (10/31-11/3) that we just booked flights for on a whim! Hoping something comes through - would love to be at an Epcot or MK DVC, but really just looking to sleep ANYWHERE! :)

We're waitlisted, but I'm a stalker for a night here or there too!

Good luck everyone!

You probably already know this, but every time you change your waitlist you go to the end of the list. It's still a tough decision on whether or not to pick up some of the nights available. Do you have enough points to pick them up and not cancel your waitlist for the whole trip? I'm in the same boat with a reservation during princess half weekend. T

I have a waitlist for one night in October at BWV. I check availability every now and then on the DVC Member site. At 6:00 am this morning I was checking availability and there it was, available for the night and room type I wanted. I couldn't book online(not enough points) and member services doesn't open until 9:00 am. I checked again around 8:30 am and it was still there. I called MS at 9:00 and of course they tell me there is no availability. I explained how it showed as available earlier in the morning. I asked why would it show available if I have a waitlist. They told me it must have been a glitch, but I doubt it. I'm sure I could have booked it online if I had the points available and I'm sure the reason the rooms disappeared was because others booked them this morning online. I have no trust in DVC as far as waitlists go and have never had any luck with waitlists. FYI- same thing has happened to me previously.
