I have an idea, but am not artistic enough to carry the disigns from my head to the computer to make it happen. I love all of the different autograph pages that all of the talented disigners have made. But, I was thinking.... I don't want to carry around 3 or 4 different autograph books per child. And I am terribly OCD when it comes to organization. So I was thinking for all of us who have this condition, we could use one autograph book but use dividers. Somewhat like one of the disigners did for the journal pages. But, include tab dividers on the end of them to make them easier to find. We could laminate the dividers so that the tabs would not tear off. Here is my idea... A 4x6 page disign with pictures of characters and on the tab say like Character meals. Then behind this tab have all of the character meal autograph cards. We could even split them up into Donald's Safari Breakfast, Chef Mickey, CRT, etc. And the dividers could have characters related to that meal on the front. I was also thinking of a divider for MNSSHP and one that says MK, Epcot, AK, DHS, or one that says something like autographs in the parks or characters in the parks. Does this make any sense? I love using the autograph pages that already have the characters on them, but we had trouble finding them in a jiffy. If I had the template with the tabs on them, I might could make one but I don't even know where to start. Anyone interested in giving it a shot?:confused3

I did one autograph book that my 2 kids shared. DH was in charge of handing the book and the sharpie to the character. Once it was signed the kids would take turns taking the book from the character and DH would take the sharpie.

I had my autograph cards printed as actual 4x6 photos at Walmart. I then put them in a hardcover photobook (same size as the photos and about 2 inches thick) I put them in the book alphabetically.

As we were waiting in line, I would pull the photo out and put it on the outside of the book. I used binder clips to hold the card to the book. I had 4 binder clips 2 on the front cover and 2 on the back cover which allowed us to do 4 characters at once when needed.
Worked out really well.

What do you mean by binder clip?

They are also called butterfly clips. The have two metal pinchers (for lack of a better word) and a black body. They are paperclips on steroids. Some people clip them to the outside of their autograph books to hold the autograph page in place so it doesn't fly away or get dropped when handing off to a character. I had an autograph book and a small clipboard, but it was a little bit of a pain to carry both. I suggest trying the "binder clip".

Thanks Dolly. Now I know what they are.:thumbsup2

Dolly is correct on her description of the binder clips.

I had more cards than the hard cover photobook would hold. I used a soft cover photo holder that only held about maybe 30 pictures and had this attached inside the hardback cover of the main photobook. It was held in place by the same clips.

Since I knew the older girls weren't into stopping for the characters, I bought a soft side photo book from the Dollar Store. I took out their front & back covers & replaced them with cards I made

This was the front & I used a generic Character Meal card for the back. Then I put in the characters from the Character Meals we were going to. We pulled them out of each book (there were 8 of us with books) & had them & the Sharpie ready for each character. we lightly put the name of the kids on the back of the cards so there would be no arguments. It worked out very well. I printed them on 4x6 cards. If a character wasn't there, then I just removed their card from the book. I also threw in some generic cards (from each park) so if we did run into a character we didn't have a card for, we could have them signed. I also carried a few binder clips with me, just to be on the safe side. :goodvibes

I like your tab divider idea! Another way to hold the pages ( and that I have done) is to use 3-ring binder rings (you find them all over). Each of my boys have autograph books held together by these and then I just fold over to the needed page (makes it kind of like a spiral bound book).

Those are all great ideas! Penny, I may have to use your idea in the near future as my girls are headed in that direction faster than I want them to.:sad1:
