I am curious on how do you ask/tell people you are having a Disney wedding.
How do you ask them if they will attend? How does that all come about? I would hate to pay and that they do not show. Can someone tell me how you ask?

I basically just asked my parents (which I knew wouldn't be a problem) and my matron of honor is she would mind before I ever booked anything. My DF asked his parents and brother and best man. Those were the only people we were concerned about. If they said no then we weren't going to do it but they agreed. Everyone else just kind of started inviting themselves...lol

HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, this can be a lil akward to ask. I did the Same As Toni...I checked with the people I NEEDED to have by my side. Once the closest family said yes, it was all icing on the cake when a few others decided to join us. My advice, ask your closest circle first, if they are all in, do it! If some can't/won't make it, decide how important it is for you to have them there. It is so special for Mike and I to get married with the mouse that we went ahead and are having the wedding w/o 2 of my sisters or his. We'll miss them but, this is what we have always wanted, you get ONE chance on this, do what you want :) B/o/l my friend:)

Everyone from my side knew long before i met DH that whenever I got married it would be in Disney. As soon as we got engaged people kept asking me if it was gonna be in disney and when they should book their tickets.
DH's side was a little skeptical at first but most of them came around and those that could attend had a great time!
We ended up with about 150 people.

I agree. We mentioned it to those closest to us, and then everyone else just has to decide if they want to participate or not. Before you pay, you would probably do formal invitations and RSVP cards, so if you had say 16, you would know to book a meal for that amount or in the case of Wishes wedding, I'm probably inviting 140 but I expect maybe 80. I kind of have to wait until the RSVP's come in to know exactly.

This can be so dramafull (yes, I made that word up). We asked everyone closest to us and they said they would be there. Then we booked...then they backed out!! Then we planned without them, and now they're coming!! Granted we're still 6monthes out.
I gave them a deadline that I had to have reservation #'s by and if I don't have them, they're not coming.
The way that disney has it set up, they won't really be able to just show up with out you telling your planner, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. But, remember that your having your wedding for you and DF not your family, no matter how close or not close they are.
Good Luck!

Well for me being only 3 hours away from Disney the majority of my family live near me, so that wasnt a problem. But I did ask people if they would come and many said of course, and some told me that they would have to see financially which I completely understand..

I had a similar story. My family and DH knew I wanted a Disney wedding. When we actually got engaged I got all the pricing together and then asked my parents if that was in the budget (mom had mentioned MANY times that she had a wedding fund set aside). Once that was set, DH asked his family and they were cool, so we didn't worry about anyone else. When we were originally planning a wishes wedding, we actually ended up having to limit our list or we would have had 100 people, and we didn't wnat anything that big or expensive!! We ended up with an Escape and had to turn people away from that too! :rotfl:

I just talked to my parents,Tim parents and my MOH and BM and asked them if they were ok with it...of course they supported me..others I would get a huff puff and a wahhhhhhh your selfish lol.
