I have always hated Biergarten after having a dismal experience there about 5 years ago. Well, this past Friday I was in EPCOT and trying to decide what to eat since my favorite restaurant is no more......atleast no more buffet (Akershus).
I love ethnic food and decided to give Marrakesh a try. We put our names in and 30 minutes later they still had not called us so my Dad recommends we head over and give Biergarten a try!
After much soul searching......I reluctantly agree. We arrive and are promptly seated. I make my way to the buffet and I am truly amazed! I was expecting just sausage and saurkraut.....I was so wrong!
I tried their salads first......they were HEAVENLY! The tomato salad is tangy with crisp onions and bell peppers, the potato salad had the perfect blend of mustard, mayo, onions and scallions and the cucumber salad was divine!
There was some slaw that was made with vinegar and caraway seeds....so different and SO GOOD! There was also a platter of cold cheeses and meats....the kids loved that.
Next I tried the hot foods. I tried the pork tenderloin first.....OMG! I am in love!
The pork was melt in your mouth tender and full of flavor......there was a huge bowl of gravy next to it.....YOU MUST TRY THIS GRAVY!!!!!! It was out of this world.....it was thick and rich and tasted to be made from wine. The pork knuckles with saurkraut is not to be missed either.....very tender and good. The meatballs were a big hit with the kids, as were the chicken fingers and roasted chicken. There was mashed potatoes, red cabbage, glazed baby carrots, green beans and pan seared roasted potatoes.
There was also many great sausages but I was too much in love with the pork tenderloin to give them more than a passing bite.
They had the usual kid's fare.....mac and cheese, hot dogs and pizza.
For dessert I somehow managed to hold apple streusal covered in vanilla sauce and a piece of chocolate cake......mmmmmmmmm....so good!
The Biergarten is truly a symphony for your taste buds.....it is my new favorite restaurant!!!!

Thanks so much for the review!
I really want to try Biergarten on our next trip since I love salads and wasn't sure if it would fit into our itinerary. But after looking at my itinerary again, I'm positive I'll be able to eat at Biergarten!
