The search wasn't working for me, so I plead with you to answer this question for the billionth time..... Who should I use - Apple or Buena Vista? Or do you have another favorite? I need a scooter that comes apart for my FIL when we go down. I had always planned on using Apple, but have heard some very bad reviews on them lately (calling and harassing customers to pay early), and its making me nervous. I'm looking for a good quality scooter that we can break down and put in the back of the minivan, that is a good price.

TIA!!!

I have not heard that about Apple. They have been a long term favorite of DIS posters.

I have also not heard anything recent negative about Buena Vista.

So, I would go with the company that has lowest to what you are looking or. Both have light weight ECVs that can come apart for transport.

We've used Apple several times now (including this past May) for my mom's ECV and have never had a problem with them. As far as paying early, that doesn't make sense. You give them your credit card number when you book and they don't charge it until the night before it's delivered. Wanting to make sure I have a zero balance on my credit card, I always go online and pay my credit card the night before we leave. The ECV charge from Apple is never even pending on it, so apparently it's not charged until very late the night before pick up.

We've never used Buena Vista, but I also have never heard anything bad about them either. We just like dealing with Alex at Apple as he gives us a discount for being a return customer.

We've used Buena Vista Scooters several times. We've not had any problems with them. The scooter is at the resort when we arrive & we just leave it with bell services when we leave. It's great for my Dad to have a scooter the whole time. It makes the trip more enjoyable for both myself & my Mom.

They give us a discount for being return customers, as well.

I rented a regular wheelchair through Apple last December when I was in a walking boot and had a great experience, no problems at all. I'm not sure how their scooters compare with other rental companies, I just wanted a standard wheelchair to use as a back-up in case walking around in the boot got to be too much. But I definitely plan on renting a scooter from them if I can ever convince my mom to come with me on a trip. Great company!

You may want to consider Walker Mobility as opposed to Apple or Beuna Vista scooters. Although WM is not on the "preferred list" my family has been using WM's scooters for several years with no complaints. They deliver on time and fully charged, pricing is very competitive and service is outstanding.
