We are going with family in Aug. We are going on the DDP. Their will be 11 of us, 3 families. I think they automatically add the tip in. Here is my concern. My family are not big eaters(5 of us) but the other 2 families are, and will order extras not included in the dining plan but I am sure will want to split the tip evenly. My family will have to pay a tip on their food. So my question is can we get 3 seperate checks for the 3 seperate families at the resturants we all go to? Any help offered would be great.

Since I'm sure yall are not sharing a room you'll have to get separate tickets. We go with my whole family and sometimes extended family. Last trip we had 4 rooms represented at each meal. When we used our table credits we had to give one card per room. My dh and I usually ordered a glass of wine or dh would order an extra soup/salad. The servicer would make that a separate ticket all together to give to us. We just let the server know up front that we had 4 families and would be paying for things separately. We never had a problem.

Separate bills will not be a problem for you. If you're on the DDP and have separate rooms - you will have to have separate bills. If you're paying OOP, just let the server know who is together on a bill when you're ordering. Not a problem at all.

Worth noting though, even splitting bills - you'll have an 18% auto gratuity added to all of your bills, but it will be 18% of just your food total.

We have 2 differet rooms. A 2 bedroom at SSR and a studio at SSR. So we will be using the same room for a group of us. However we will still ask them to seperate the families. As far as adding the 18% to the bill, I have no problem with that so long as I am not responsible for what the other family orders! Thanks for the help.

What about parties of 6+ being charged automatically 18%? Is this for those in the same accomidation?

No, the 6+ applies to how many people are sitting at a table, or are listed as being together on an ADR. The 6+ also applies even if one (or more) of the 6 is an infant and won't be eating (or will be sharing off of an adults plate)
