We are booked for July on a package with dining and 7MYW base tickets.

We were planning on doing 5 days of parks and upgrading te tickets to 10 day no exp. for another trip.

The thing is I think we will love the dining plan, and we think that we will not be able to go without it if it is still available in the future. In order to have dining we have to buy at least a one day ticket, so if I add it up I will not be saving any money. Ithink???

DD is 9 this year, I wanted to upgrade her ticket while she is still on a child's price.

But if I make a total of what it will cost me when I upgrade, add no expiration, and buy my one day tickets if I get the package for next year, will it still be worth it? Should I just wait and buy 5 day MYW base tickets with expiration when we book next year's vacation and forget about upgrading this years ticket?

I hope I am not confusing anyone! LOL

I should mention we are 4 me,DH,DD 13,and DD9(this year)

Hope someone can help me, I am really confused.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I figure as soon as I go ahead and buy my tickets for next time - 10 day non-expiring, they will come out with a better deal. Plus, I am really needing 8 days for this trip, and can't see only needing 2 in the future. So if they keep tickets like they are, the more days you get, the cheaper they are per day. Bottom line is, I am just going to buy what I need this year.

I really think it's a matter of pick your deal.

If you purchase enough admission for this trip AND your next trip, instead of whatever promotion they might offer in the future, you'd book your room seperately, and would have saved money on the admission. (And possibly be able to take advantage of any AAA room discounts, or any room-only discounts Disney might release to the general population)

If you only buy the admission you need for this trip, you would then be able to take advantage of whatever sort of promotion they might run in the future.

Key word there is might. There's no guarantee that a discount will come out in the future. I think you need to make a decision based on what you know now. If you know you're going to need the dining plan for future trips, I would only buy the admission that you need for this trip.

I just booked a short 3 night trip with free dining in Sept. at the POFQ (king bed room) for the DW and I. I went back and forth like you did and finally settled on the 10 day no expiry tickets, it was a much better deal.

The original cost for 3 days hotel, 4 day hopper pass with the dining plan was $1178. I paid $1208. Bottom line...for $30 more, I got two 6 day passes to use for another trip. Definately worth it! Next time, I just need a room code and I'm all set! :rotfl:

Not a complaint, but Disney knows what they are doing. They get the most $$ that they can from every guest and they know they will get repeat business from folks like me that now have 2 6 day passes burning a hole in my pocket and we have not even used the original 4 days yet! :earboy2:
