My boys are 3 and 5. We are debating the Sit and STand or the regular stroller. What do you think? The regular stroller is easier, lighter, and has a bigger basket and cup holder. The sit and stand is harder to push but it has a place for my 5 year old.
Do I need a place for my 5 year old?
Thanks,
Gwen

Although I've never pushed the sit and stand stroller, you're five year old may be very thankful for the seat!!! Walking all day does get tiring and a moving seat is a great thing!

If you're considering the Sit and Stand, you should take a look at the Peg Perego Pliko. It's not much more than the Sit and Stand, but it does have a small place on the back for an older child to stand and hold on. My DD5 LOVES it and it does give her a break from walking in the parks. It's folds up very small, it's an umbrella stroller. I bought this stroller after the airlines broke my double, but my DD would have outgrown that one soon anyway. It's GREAT and I don't regret it for a minute!!!

I would take the regular stroller for the 3 yo and rent one as needed for the 5 yo. I have a Sit N Stand and I would not bring it to WDW - too heavy and too hard to push. Our next trip is in May and our kids will be almost 3 and almost 5. I plan on bringing an umbrella stroller for my almost 3 yo. If my almost 5 yo will still fit in the umbrella stroller, I will bring that for her. If she's too big for it, we will rent as needed in the parks. Good luck and have a great time!

I agree on not taking the Sit N Stand.

I have one that I was thinking about taking, but it doesn't fold up very compact, it's heavy and I think I would have a terrible time trying to get it on the buses and boats.

We rented a double stroller while we were there the first time and only for 2 half days. My kids were 5, 8 and 11. It was a waste except that my 8 year old had someplace to sit when we were waiting for parades or fireworks. We don't ussually stay in one park for the whole day so we don't bother take the extra time to get one. When we do get one we ussually get it because we can store the stuff we carry in on the "hood". Things like water bottles or maybe extra clothes. We also found that if the kids were getting tired of walking we needed to take a break anyway...great time for a WDW treat!!

I second the vote for the Pliko! We've got one and it was wonderful on our trip last May with a then 22mo and 3 1/2yo. But my kids are walkers. My DS is now 2 and can walk for 2 hours at the zoo (hills and all) and DD never rides in a stroller anymore. Having the steps for her to hop on when we needed to move fast or just to/from parking lot was enough to save her legs for walking in the parks.

We were there in May with my very active 2 year old and my almost 6 year old who hates to walk. We bought a Sit N Stand just for the trip and could not have done without it. It was heavy getting on and off the bus, but that is only a few steps of the entire day. Older DS knew he had to get off if there was a hill or Mom was really tired, but he rode quite a bit. We did not want to bring a small stroller then rent for older DS, cause we did not want to push 2 strollers. Also could not see renting a double cause we would have had to carry younger DS from the hotel room to the bus and from the bus to the rental area and back every day. (He screams if I put him in a harness and runs everywhere when he is not)

Also, we bought 2 cup holders at Wal-Mart for about $4 each to attach to the front and the back of the stroller.

My boys will be 4 and 2½ and we plan on bringing our Graco Duo-Glider stroller. I know it is heavy but after weighing (ha) all our options, I believe it's the right thing for us. We even bought a double umbrella stroller for our trip but now decided against it because there basically is no storage space (need alot of space for juice boxes, diapers, etc.). I know both my boys will want to sit in the stroller at some point and the Graco is more comfortable too. I will definitely be reporting on this board after our trip to let everyone know the pros and cons for the stroller of our choice.
