Hello.
Please do NOT flame me at all. I just want to ask a question.

How come, as in BabyPiglets post on the "Walt would be ashamed" thread she said,

I come here because this is sort of like my family. My second family.

I know that if I ever met some of these people in real life I'd have no problem running up to them and giving them a humongous hug. I know that I wouldn't be shy at all, and I know I would act as if I had known them since they were in diapers. I guess it's because everyone here is just so darn accepting, friendly and down to earth. There's no judging around here based on material things. Everyone here can just be themselves.

It's really a great place to have, especially for people like us in our teen years. Going through all kinds of things, it's really great to just get away from that for a little bit and come to people who welcome you with open arms.

And no matter how shy someone is in real life, they can get to be the most opinionated person on here.

I come here because honestly, this place has really helped me grow as a human being.

What exactly would you mean by that? Because I have seen a couple of people on here within the time I joined and even before that when I was "lurking", people have been opinionated and then have been flamed for having a different answer.

Again please Do Not flame me.

I just meant that I have some really shy friends, but when I talk to them on the computer they're are the most outgoing people I've ever seen. I used to be a little introverted (2 years ago) but when I joined the DIS I could really speak out about my opinion on things, I just wasn't afraid.

lol i'm the reverse.
I am more opinionated in person because online it usually results into a fight. Plus I am a much more eloquent debater in person.

I speak my mind online more than I do in real life, but some people do go a bit to far and sound rude.
It's not like they mean to.
Sometimes you just type things that sound mean, but you don't mean for them to sound that way at all.
It's not like we have our voices to express our true feelings while typing.

Mm yes.
I do get it.
I'm kind of like that. I can be very opininated, and piss people off online, and it sometimes won't bug me.
But honestly, real life, I'm quite reserved. I don't say controversial things, I don't stir trouble. I most keep quiet unless I'm around friends.
