Ok, so I just came back, last month first trip with the free dining plan. I loved it!! Just my DS13 and I. Ok, so my husband has said no trips back to disney until he gets to go to hawaii, talk about expensive. Just him, and I, to fly from Ny is 1360. Plus he now wants to cruise around hawaii. 5685, for just the two of us, in a balcony.. He is insisting. But, I want to go back to disney for the free dining promo, in 2007. Onto the question. If. I put down money now for our family to go in 2007. Can I cancel and rebook, when they offer the free dining package. Or is it only for new bookings. Please, does anyone know. Thanks in advance.

If you had a package booked & they do offer the free dining promo, you could switch it over as long as your selected resort were available with the free dining package........

But........If you're only going to go to WDW because of free dining, then why would you want to book a regular package now?

The more people that book rooms early, the less likely they'll be to offer the free dining package or any other discounts for that matter. Just because free dining was offered in the past is no guarantee that it'll be offered in the future. Why not wait until it's actually offered?

They're already offering free dining next year for residents of the UK and Ireland (something which they apparently have never done before), so it's possible they won't offer it to other residents in 2007. :confused3

We were already booked last year for the DDP when they announced the free dining. We just called and they gave it to us. We did not have to rebook.

Actually, the fact that they're offering it to UK residents already would indicate to me that they're more likely to offer it to us Americans again next year.

I would agree, it indicates that they need more visitors in Aug/Sept, and that is a month when a lot of UK visitors come over. The reason it is offered earlier is that it takes longer to pay for as it is more expensive and about now is when we are planning our 2007 holidays. As we come for longer it may also be more lucrative keeping us in the parks for 2 weeks!

I really think this looks good for the US to be announced next year for the same peirod, but there may be changes, we had a minimum period of 5 days (most TA's uped it to 7 days) and also longer tickets, not more 1 day tickets to make it a package.

For me it means I'll use the package rather thanrenew my AP next year, after making sure I have a DDE card for our trip.

How did you hear about it, if you don't mind my asking?

I just posted a similiar question in a new post and am trying to figure this all out myself.

Most of this kind of information is very quickly floating around here on the boards when released. There is a section under Disney Resorts for codes and rates. Also places like mousesavers.com are quick to announce offers as well.

Thanks for the info.

I do belong to Mousesavers emails, so I suspect I will hear about it that way as well.

CindiR are you in the UK or ireland, if not then at the mo it is little use to you.
