I have a new condition

SO ..... for many years the unloved park, the half day park, the hot park ................... is now the MUST DO park ............. causing anxiety, frustration, angry posts on the Disney blog .... because guests can't plan their every minute of their trip ............. wait I thought guests hated planning?

Maybe Disney does know what it's doing 8-)

I like Animal Kingdom a lot, because you can wander around and find all sorts of interesting things. But hey, that's just me. Don't get stressed, you're on vacation!

LOL! Nope. I like that of all the parks, AK is one of the most relaxing. Evening entertainment will not change that for my family.

Right there with you! Totally going to change our typical plans. My DD isn't a big AK fan. Basically, she likes to ride Safari, eat brunch at Tusker house (we try to time it when the buffet changes over to get both breakfast and lunch), see a couple characters, watch the Lion King show and maybe walk around and see a couple of animals if I ask nicely. We were able to get her there longer without complaint for 2 trips when they started the big Wilderness Explorer books/tasks- but once she finished the book, she had no interest in doing it again. I like AK a lot more than she does. AK day is always a half day starting at rope drop and then we either have a pool night, or an evening at 1900 Park Fare/GF and maybe DTD. Now, an evening at AK is a must. We love WOC at DLR (at least the old version) and I want so see the new similar AK show and I'm not taking no for an answer from DD or DH! So now I suffer from AKA because I have to figure out a new plan and figure that out while still being sure she gets enough Stormalong Bay time since we are staying at YC and still fit in 1900 Park Fare somewhere. Plus, there are the crowds for the new AK entertainment to consider. Do we go in the morning, take a break and go back (we never take park breaks). Do we go later in the day and miss TH breakfast, but FP+ KS and EE, so that will be okay? What to do- what to do!

Believe-it-or-not, RoL actually relieved some anxiety as we didn't have to think too hard about buying hoppers for our next trip. A half-day park seemed like a waste, so we'd consider getting hoppers, then quickly dismiss the added cost, so our last trip we skipped AK altogether. This time, no discussion about hoppers needed. We will skip DHS because of extensive closures (and the end of SWW), and we will be able to make a full day of AK! DS3 (4 on our next trip) loves fireworks, so another nighttime show will make him so happy (even without actual fireworks).

Same here. We usually spend 3-4 hours tops in AK. Now this ROL has thrown my whole plan off. Tusker house is a must - do breakfast, so I'm guessing we will leave and come back. That is IF we can get a FP or dining package to guarantee seating. If not, not sure I will travel back for it or not. Really want to see it, but to go back with only 5000 seats, with no guarantee, probably not.

WOC at DLR is FP only. No FP, no entry. I suspect that we might see the same thing at ROL with only 5000 seats (isn't that almost 2000 less than Fantasmic?) - I don't think they have put out the final word on that yet have they? I wonder if it will be run through the FP+ system and be a regular FP+, or if they will run it like DL did Fantasmic when it went to FP only last year and you have to physically go to mobile (not a permanent fixture) kiosks run by CMs in the park to get the FP. If it is FP+ only for entry through MDE and the regular 3 FP+ system, then if we couldn't get a FP+ that would make things easy. If you had to go to kiosks in the morning- that would mess up any late entry plan. I can't imagine they would do that for a brand new show (unlike Fantasmic at DL which had been running for years)- it would seem to make more sense to run it through MDE, but then I think there will be the additional issue that offsite people can't book it because it quickly fills up with the onsite people and I don't think that will play well. I am very interested to see in how they are going to work this. The rumor is that they are doing 3 shows a night isn't it? I'm with you though- I really want to see it and would do it with a dining package, or FP+, but I'm not sure if I will do a 2 or 3 hour wait for it which you know it will probably be. I would about bet that the lines are big a good 2 hours before the first show and that the line is huge enough that the 2nd and 3rd shows are full before the 1st even starts. I wonder how they are going to handle crowd control? AK doesn't really have the widest paths or areas to gather. I would think it might turn into a traffic congestion nightmare. Even if the whole thing is FP+, I'm sure it will be a big wait with everyone trying to get the best seats. Okay now, you have made my AKA about 10 times worse really thinking about all this!!!

Exactly. I've never done fantasmic without a Dining package. We had planned it one year, and went past an hour before and the line was already down the sidewalk. No thanks!! Like you said, I can't see them offering many fast passes if at all, once the dining packages have their reserved seats, there won't be much left. I don't know how this is going to play out, but your vision of the 2end and third showings having waits before the first starts, just sent my head spinning...THIS could happen:scared1: Well hopefully since we aren't going until September we will have a much better idea. This show was one of the things I've been looking forward to the most, and I'm starting to talk myself out of going now:rotfl:

Are you an alien?

Huh?

You know. An alien. From outer space.

No.

Well then, son, you've got a condition.

Stacy

I have a new anxiety now, which is that FotLK will burst into flames in the middle of the performance lol.
